Mackenzie Standifer and Ryan Edwards ironed out a custody agreement last year that appeared to be mostly working, but as is typical for the Teen Mom cast, drama was not far behind. Standifer just returned to court requesting an emergency modification that limits Ryan’s access to his kids and completely blocks his new wife, Amanda Conner, from engaging with her stepchildren. The request has been granted. Here is what we know so far.

Mackenzie Standifer was granted an emergency custody modification

Mackenzie Standifer appeared in a Tennessee court on Friday to request an emergency modification to the custody agreement she has with her ex, Ryan Edwards. According to The Ashley, Mackenzie filed an ex parte emergency restraining order against Amanda Conner and asked a judge to modify how and where Ryan can see the two children she shares with him. The judge agreed to the request on the same day.

Under the new terms, Amanda Conner is barred from seeing or interacting with Jagger Edwards and Stella Edwards. Ryan is not banned from spending time with the kids. Still, he can’t do so in his own home and must be supervised while spending time with them. Overnight visits appear to be off the table.

The agreement that a judge signed off on back in August 2025 gave Ryan Edwards 140 parenting days per year. That agreement included overnight stays. Since that agreement has been in place, Conner has shared photos of her stepchildren on social media. Those photo dumps have slowed in recent months.

How Mackenzie and Ryan Got Here

Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Standifer married in 2017 and later welcomed their two children together, though their relationship was never smooth. Their bitter split played out publicly, with Standifer filing for divorce from Edwards after a series of increasingly serious run-ins with the law. Edwards ended up in a court-ordered rehab program following the 2023 dustups.

Ryan and Mackenzie’s divorce was long, complicated, and particularly bitter, but was finalized in August 2025, more than two years after the initial filing. Two weeks later, Ryan married Amanda Conner, whom he met while attending court-ordered rehab. They previously announced their engagement in January 2025. They welcomed their daughter, Presley, that February.

While it is unclear exactly what prompted Mackenzie to seek a change to her previous custody agreement, Teen Mom fans suspect it might be related to Amanda Conner’s legal troubles and her public relapse. The emergency order comes months after Amanda was arrested near Chattanooga, Tennessee, in the early hours of May 24 for a DUI and child abuse. Ryan himself called police on his wife. In a released 911 call, he told a dispatcher he believed she was under the influence of narcotics. He also reported that she had driven off with their one-year-old daughter in the car. Police located the vehicle and arrested Amanda. She was later released on bond.

Last month, a judge overseeing her criminal case ordered Conner to begin submitting to weekly drug screenings. She was previously required to submit to random testing. Conner took to social media to claim the change was due to her “haters” calling her probation officer. She’s due back in court on October 21.

Amanda Conner is the mother of two children. Her daughter, Presley, was reportedly removed from her care following her May arrest. It is unclear who currently has custody of the toddler. Amanda’s older child from a previous relationship, who lived with a relative during an earlier stint in rehab, was living with Amanda and Ryan at one time. He has not appeared in her social media posts for months, prompting questions about his custody arrangement. Neither Amanda nor Ryan has commented.

This is a developing story.
