Meet your new Married at First Sight experts!

The Seattle-set season 20 of the hit reality series premieres July 12 on Peacock. The show, which moved to the streamer from Lifetime for starting with season 19, is getting a bit of an overhaul after more than a decade on the air. The longtime MAFS trio of experts – Pastor Cal Roberson, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, and Dr. Pia Holec – are out, and two new relationships pros will now be in charge of matching the show’s brave singles. Plus, there will be more couples and fresh dynamics, including tense group therapy sessions with all the couples.

So, who are Paul C. Brunson and Dr. Lisa Paz? Let’s get to know these new Married at First Sight stars.

Paul C. Brunson has appeared on ‘MAFS: UK’

Paul C. Brunson might be a new face to many MAFS fans in the U.S., but he no stranger to serious followers of the franchise. Brunson, a relationship expert, coach, and author, has been part of the matchmaking panel on multiple season of Married at First Sight: UK. He’s also hosted the British reality series Celebs Go Dating and Lovetown USA for the Oprah Winfrey Network. He also guided couples through the complexities of infidelity on the Netflix series Cheat: Unfinished Business with Amanda Holden.

“I’ve been coaching couples my entire career,” Brunson tells a prospective bride in the trailer for the new MAFS season. “The goal is to have your find a partner.”

In addition to his work on TV, Brunson hosts the podcast We Need to Talk and has published three books: It’s Complicated (But It Doesn’t Have to Be): A Modern Guide to Finding and Keeping Love (2012), Find Love (2024), and Keep Love (2025). He also serves as the global insights director for the dating app Tinder.
