Cookie Queens didn’t exactly set the box office on fire when it hit theaters in August 2026. But the documentary – which is co-produced by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Productions – could find success on streaming. 

On Wednesday, Paramount+ announced it had licensed the movie, which is directed by Alysa Nahmias and follows four driven young girls as they compete to become a top‑selling “Cookie Queen” while navigating ambition, friendship, and the realities of an $800 million business.

Cookie Queens will premiere January 6, 2027, on Paramount+. It’s the first time that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have teamed up with the streamer; their other projects, including With Love, Meghan, and Heart of Invictus, streamed on Netflix as part of a multi-million dollar deal with the company.

Meghan and Harry signed on as executive producers of Cookie Queens earlier this year, after the movie earned an audience award at the 2026 SXSW Festival. At a screening in July, Megan said that the film was “more than just a cookie movie.”

“It’s such a brilliant portrayal of Americana and the global tradition of the Girl Scouts,” she shared (via The Hollywood Reporter). “When I describe it to people, I say, ‘I know you think it’s just going to be a cute film about cookies,’ and yes, it’s very cute — but every time we’ve seen it, there’s not a dry eye in the house. There are so many meaningful, grounding moments that make it much more resonant.”
