Pink recently made it clear that she refuses to change herself to satisfy others. When critics mocked her makeup-free appearance, the singer turned their comments into an opportunity to celebrate her confidence. When critics tried to troll her for looking unrecognizable without makeup, Pink responded with a confident message of her own. 

Throughout her career, the singer has worn many bold looks with heavy glam makeup. That does not mean that she is not true to herself. According to Hello!, Pink sparked a controversy after photographers spotted her going makeup-free on the streets of New York. 

The 47-year-old wore a purple sweatshirt over a matching pair of track pants. She tied a scarf around her face and carried a pup in a sling bag. As her pictures went viral, many claimed that they could not recognize the singer. 

An Instagram user exclaimed, “That’s not PINK.” Another critic noted, “She looks so different without the heavy Instagram filters she uses.” “Don’t think this is pink – in fact, I’m sure this is not pink. What makeup can hide, wow,” a third user wrote. 

Some fans also came in her defense, saying, “No one looks fabulous all the time. It’s just a bad picture.” However, it appeared that she did not need defending as she herself clapped back at her trolls. Sharing the paparazzi photo on Instagram stories, the So What singer wrote, “What is everyone talking about? I look HOT, and you can tell that’s what I was going for, too. I woke up and said, ‘I am going to be serving LOOKS today.’ And I did that.” She added a series of laughing emojis with the text. 

Pink continued to troll those who criticized her for her no-makeup look by sharing another photo. She posted a close-up picture and wrote, “I look even better today,” across it. 

This is not the first time Pink has called out the beauty standards for a celebrity. According to People, she penned a note to herself on X in 2020. At the time, she publicly reminded herself that she was growing older and had more lines on her face. The 47-year-old wrote, “Dear Me, you’re getting older. I see lines. Especially when you smile. Your nose is getting bigger… You look (and feel) weird as you get used to this new reality.”

She then reminded herself that ageing is not bad. The Just Give Me a Reason crooner further confessed that she considers opting for cosmetic surgery and Botox from time to time. However, she added, “Then you watch a show where you want to see what the person is feeling… and their face doesn’t move. I cannot get behind it. I just can’t.”

Pink had another reason for not going under the knife. She revealed that she wanted her children to know when she is angry with her expressions. The singer also noted that she was fortunate she did not build her career on her looks. “I’ve decided that my talent and my individuality are far more important than my face,” she wrote.

The singer is often criticized for her appearance, as people call her too manly or not feminine. However, Pink gave her fans a warning, concluding her post and telling them that she was going to age the old-fashioned way.
