Fans Cheer as Netflix Renews ‘House of Guinness’ for Season 2, Nearly One Year After Premiere
Netflix is ordering another round of Guinness.
The streamer has renewed House of Guinness for season 2, Variety reported on Friday. The news comes nearly a year after the juicy period drama based on the famous Irish brewing family premiered.
‘House of Guinness’ Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger
House of Guinness – which stars James Norton, Louis Partridge, and Jack Gleeson – follows the heirs to the Guinness family fortune, who take over the business that their father built and expand it into a worldwide brand while also dealing with personal drama and political and social unrest in late 19th century Ireland.
All eight episodes of the series from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight premiered in September 2025. Season 1 ended on a major cliffhanger, with Patrick Cochrane (Seamus O’Hara), the leader of the Fenian Brotherhood, sneaking into a rally for Arthur Guinness (Anthony Boyle), who was running for Parliament. He fired a gun at the stage, where Arthur and his family were seated, and the screen faded to black.
While House of Guinness Season 2 is in the works, it will be some time before new episodes arrive on Netflix. Production is set to begin in early 2027.
Knight has said that House of Guinness has the potential to last many seasons.
“We are going to do season 2 and 3 and 4 … we are going to do this all the way to the 1960s,” he told the Irish Mirror, according to Variety.
Fans react to ‘House of Guinness’ Season 2 news
On social media, fans reacted with excitement to the news that the Guinness family would be back on Netflix.
“Finally! This news just made my entire week,” one person commented on X.
“I am absolutely thrilled that House of Guinness got a second season. The storytelling was so immersive, and I’ve been dying to see where the journey goes next,” wrote another fan.
One viewer admitted they were stunned that the show got renewed months after it premiered on Netflix. They were also miffed about the long wait between seasons.
“I’m happy but also shocked, when Netflix is quiet about a show’s renewal for so long it usually means it got axed,” they wrote on Reddit. “Also Netflix is so annoying with 3 years between seasons for shows, by the time the show comes back the momentum will be gone.”
“Omg Im almost crying,” commented another fan. “I’ve been waiting for so long I actually had lost hope, this is amazing news! That cliffhanger annoyed me so much, Im thrilled about this!”
House of Guinness Season 1 is streaming on Netflix.
