Kanye West shared a close bond with the Kardashian-Jenner clan at the time he was married to Kim Kardashian. While he rarely appeared on the family’s reality TV show, he still had many conversations with different members of the family. Recently, Kourtney Kardashian revealed a piece of advice she received from her brother-in-law before tying the knot with Travis Barker. 

Kardashian and Barker married in 2022 after being linked for years. They share a blended family with their kids from their previous relationships. According to E!, Kardashian had a chat with her stepson Landon Barker in an episode of The Kardashians. The 47-year-old gave a few words of wisdom to Barker, saying that he should “wait” to get intimate with his partner until he gets married. 

The Poosh founder revealed that she received such a piece of advice from West. When asked if she waited until her nuptials to get closer to Barker, she replied with a no. She said, “No, but I remember Kanye told me, ‘I feel like God is calling me to tell you that you should not hook up with any randoms until you are with your husband.” Kardashian further added, “And I didn’t,” revealing she avoided hook-ups with other men before she and the Blink-182 drummer officially married. 

The mother of four also shares children with her ex-boyfriend Scott Disick. The former couple are parents to Mason, Penelope, and Reign. She had her first child with Barker in 2023 and named their son Rocky.

Kardashian reportedly shared a cordial bond with West. During Kim and the rapper’s divorce, insiders revealed that she stayed close to her sister as well for days. According to Us Weekly, a source shared, “Kourtney has been trying really hard to be there for Kim this week.” “Kim was over at Kourtney’s on Wednesday, [February 17,] as the preparations for [the Friday, February 19, divorce filing] were being finalized,” the insider added. 

Kim and Ye began dating in 2012, and by the end of the year they were expecting their first child together. The following year brought many changes in their relationship as they welcomed North West and also got engaged after the rapper popped the question. The couple tied the knot in 2014 and welcomed their other three children, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. 

The decade of the 2020s brought a lot of trouble in their marriage. Ye’s public outbursts about Kim’s pregnancy and revelations about their marriage affected their bond. Eventually, Kim filed for divorce in early 2021. She was declared single a year later, and their divorce was finally official. 

On the other hand, Kardashian has been embracing her married life ever since her nuptials with Barker. The couple became neighbors in 2007 when the drummer moved in the same community as the reality TV star. During a 2022 episode of her family show, she recalled how she grew closer to Barker over time. 

“We would almost, like, play house because we would do things together with our kids,” Kardashian said. Their visits would include going to the church and museum at the time. As her friends often advised her to take their friendship to the next step, she admitted to having been attracted to her now-husband. 

“I was definitely always attracted to Travis,” she admitted. Kardashian then added, “I think it was just the right time in my life.”
