Sydney Sweeney And Scooter Braun Spark Engagement Buzz Despite ‘Red Flags’ Around Romance
Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun have reportedly taken their relationship to the next level. An insider close to the couple revealed that they got engaged after dating for more than a year. Neither Sweeney nor Braun has publicly confirmed the reported engagement, which came shortly after the Euphoria star was reportedly advised to break up with Braun.
According to In Touch, an insider called the couple “a match made in disaster” after claiming they had gotten engaged. While the couple is reportedly happy with the new step, the Christy star’s close ones are not thrilled with her decision. “There are red flags, and people think it will end in tears,” the source added.
Another source claimed that Braun’s involvement in Sweeney’s finances has become a point of concern. Moreover, they revealed that the 29-year-old is unaware of it. The insider said, “Scooter hasn’t disclosed investments to Sydney.” They further added that the actress is unaware of the “extent to which the money being paid to her from these partnerships is actually coming through a backdoor from Scooter.”
The insider claimed that the 45-year-old has “vested interests” in Sweeney’s brand Syrn and the sports trading platform Novig. Moreover, they added that Braun is “pulling strings” behind Sweeney’s back. The source further alleged that Braun is ‘pulling strings’ behind Sweeney’s back. “He’s maneuvering everything that will ultimately enrich him,” they claimed.
Braun reportedly also attempted to set up a photo opportunity for Sweeney with a top Novig executive at the U.S. Open. The source claimed that his intention behind it was to bring more attention to Novig with the help of Sweeney. However, when the tickets didn’t come to fruition, and someone called Sydney to tell her as much, she had absolutely no idea what the tickets were,” the insider claimed.
The outlet revealed last month that the couple was living together at Braun’s Los Angeles home. The insider at the time claimed that Sweeney moved in with the businessman within a month of dating him. According to Page Six, Ari Emanuel advised the Housemaids star to part ways with Braun.
Sources told Page Six that Sweeney met with WME Group executive chairman Ari Emanuel in January. Their meeting reportedly took an awkward turn when he told the actress that she could better her career by leaving Braun. An insider said, “Ari was telling her that if she wanted to be taken seriously as an actress and businesswoman, she needed to break up with Scooter.”
Sweeney did not pursue Emanuel’s advice. Moreover, Braun learned about the warning and reportedly got upset. Braun reportedly later learned about the alleged warning and was upset. Ironically, the source claimed that it was Braun who encouraged his girlfriend to meet Emanuel. However, a representative for the 65-year-old Emanuel denied that he met with the Anyone But You star at the beginning of the year.
The news outlet claimed last week that Braun was planning to pop the question. An insider at the time said, “He thinks she is the modern Marilyn Monroe.” The source continued to claim that Braun was trying hard to marry her. “He is following her and chartering private planes. He’s going to stay focused on her until she marries him,” they added.
The couple was also spotted spending time with Braun’s two kids. They stepped out in Los Angeles for smoothies, weeks before the report of their engagement began swirling around.
