Oprah Winfrey recently showcased her signature blend of comfort and polish in a cozy lavender knit lounge set during an episode of The Oprah Podcast. The monochromatic ensemble featured a soft hooded sweatshirt paired with cropped joggers. And both were in a matching muted lavender tone. While Winfrey clearly prioritized comfort over fashion with this look, the knit texture still looked sophisticated. And she completed the look with chunky white sneakers and simple pearl earrings.

Lavender has emerged as one of the defining shades of spring 2026. Runways and retail collections alike have leaned heavily into purple tones this season. Designers continue to embrace the color in everything from flowing dresses to tailored sets. More specifically, soft lavender has gained traction as a wearable entry point into the trend, offering a lighter, more approachable version of the bold purple seen on the runway. Its popularity also ties into the wider pastel movement dominating 2026.

As for Winfrey, she’s always been ahead of the trends. While her current lavender set is the topic of discussion, it’s not the first time that she’s sported the color. In 2023, the media mogul wore a lavender suit to promote The Color Purple at CinemaCon on April 25 in Las Vegas. She wore a classic white button-up shirt underneath. And she completed the look with black ankle boots.

In both instances — 2026 and 2023 — Winfrey boldly paired her lavender outfits with matching purple eyeshadow. While many makeup artists might suggest against the perfect match, it works extremely well on Winfrey.
