Ray J and Blueface’s New Feud, Explained
Ray J has spent much of 2025 and 2026 in the news for less-than-ideal reasons. From health battles to legal battles, the rapper’s life has unfolded in the headlines. Now, he’s in the news again, and this time it’s because of a brand new feud. Things got messy between Ray J and Blueface just recently. Let’s take a look at how it all played out.
Blueface and Ray J are fighting
On August 28, a clip from one of Blueface’s livestreams went viral. In the clip, Blueface made explicit claims about his relationship with Shila Hasanoff, a woman who Ray J has been romantically linked to in the past. In the livestream, Blueface called out Ray J directly, seemingly mocking him for having hooked up with his girlfriend.
Ray J addressed the situation shortly after in an interview with TMZ, pushing back on the idea that anything Blueface said actually bothered him. Ray J downplayed his romance with Hasanoff, insisting that they were just friends and that she was never his girlfriend. He insists that Hasanoff is free to do what she wants, but it’s clear Blueface’s attempt to clown him didn’t sit well. He told TMZ he wouldn’t be opposed to stepping into a boxing ring with Blueface, so long as the price is right.
While being called out by Blueface clearly bothered Ray J, it seems to have had more to do with looking like a fool than the rapper sleeping with Hasanoff. Ray J previously embarrassed Hasanoff on a livestream when he told the world he would “never” love her, while she sat nearby. Their romance seemed to fizzle quickly after that.
Ray J’s History of Feuds
Ray J’s new feud with Blueface isn’t his first time having a public spat. He’s built a reputation for happily engaging in feuds. He isn’t against instigating them, either. Perhaps his most famous and long-running feud is with Kanye West, stemming from Ray J’s 2007 sex tape with Kim Kardashian, who later married West. The tension boiled over in 2013 when Ray J released “I Hit It First,” a song widely seen as taking shots at both Kardashian and West. Kanye responded in kind, taking jabs at Ray J during a live performance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
Ray J and Fabolous also have a famous feud. The feud boiled over into a physical fight in 2011 in Las Vegas. The police were called to break up the melee. More recently, he’s instigated drama with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, and has created so much drama around his former relationship with Kim Kardashian that he is being sued by the TV personality and her mother, Kris Jenner.
There have been plenty of flare-ups with the mother of his children, Princess Love, and he engaged in a pretty epic back-and-forth with Kodak Black in 2023. While the world is waiting to see if this latest feud will end in a boxing match, Ray J is probably off planning his next very public feud.
Shila Hasanoff has not responded to the drama.
