‘RHORI’ Star Kelsey Swanson Denies Escort Rumors, Blames Stolen Social Media Photos
Bravo newbie Kelsey Swanson is shutting down rumors she once worked as an escort.
Kelsey is part of the cast of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, which premiered April 2. Soon after the show launched, rumors began circulating online that the former Miss Rhode Island was hiding her past as a sex worker. A Real Housewives gossip account shared screenshots that purported to show Kelsey advertising her services – ranging in price from $500 to $2,900 – on a now-defunct website.
Kelsey Swanson says escort rumors are ‘completely made up’
The RHORI star quickly chimed in on the post to debunk the reports.
“Had to comment on this one- never have been an escort.” she wrote. “Pages were completely made up 10 years ago. State police were involved. Thanks for sharing tho.”
In a follow-up comment, Kelsey explained that the photos on the ad were stolen from her social media.
“They took beach pics and photos from me on a family cruise!” she wrote.
‘RHORI’ star has a ‘very unorthodox’ love life
One reason the rumors about Kelsey’s alleged sex worker past quickly gained traction might be her admittedly “very unorthodox” approach to her love life. As she explained in the RHORI series premiere, she’s been in a 10-year relationship with an older man from a “prominent” Rhode Island family whom she met when she was just 19. But she and her anonymous boyfriend aren’t exclusive, even though she lives in his massive 16,000-square-foot mansion.
“For the first half of the year, my boyfriend is in Miami, and when he’s in Miami, he’s with somebody else,” she explained.
Because her long-term boyfriend is unwilling to be monogamous, Kelsey has also started seeing another man.
“Obviously, I want to have kids, I want to be married,” she told her castmates. “The person that I’ve been with for 10 years will not give me that. So, I am dating somebody else.”
Despite Kelsey’s transparency about her romantic life, she may struggle to shake the rumors about her past. The account that shared the images of her supposedly advertising on an escort site noted that the date-stamp was in 2016. That lines up with when Kelsey says she met her mystery boyfriend.
“I can’t help but wonder… is this how she met her boyfriend, John Caprio? Because the timeline is lining up a little too perfectly,” the online pot-stirrer wondered. “She said on the premiere they’ve been together for 10 years… and this website was active 10 years ago. Hmmm.”
