Prince Harry and Prince William have gone years without talking to one another. Following the Sussexes’ return to the U.K., they were hit with a scandal as Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle Sr., faced allegations of possessing child s—– a—- material in the Philippines. Amid the string of controversies, insiders say that Kate Middleton believes William is too harsh toward his sister-in-law.

According to Closer, an insider revealed that the Waleses are arguing over their handling of the Sussexes’ new scandal. “There have been arguments and some tense moments, and they still can’t agree on the best way forward,” the insider claimed. The source added that the Prince and Princess of Wales have completely different arguments. 

Reportedly, the revelation about Markle’s father has softened Middleton. “Kate feels desperately sorry for Meghan – she’s a mother with two young children, and Kate can’t help but think about how difficult this must be for her,” the source said. However, the future monarch is not acting on emotions. Instead, he is “concerned about the repercussions” and maintaining a safe distance. 

The insider claimed that William’s approach has Middleton worried about appearing “heartless.” Therefore, the insider added, “She’s trying to find a middle ground, and that’s proving difficult.” 

The source continued to note that the Prince of Wales is more “stoic.” As the next in line for the throne, he has prioritized protecting his family and the institution over anything. This makes him more “objective” about the situation, thinking that the family has already spent a lot of time on the Sussexes and he no longer wants to open doors for them again. 

The Princess has a rather softer approach, as she believes William is being “too hard” on the Duchess. His priorities do not stop him from feeling terrible about the allegations Thomas is facing. “But he doesn’t believe it’s something the royal family should become involved in,” the insider declared. 

The Waleses are still reportedly standing at a crossroads. Middleton is not suggesting that William make a big gesture. The mother of three is asking “why they can’t privately acknowledge what she’s going through.” Besides checking on Markle, the source says that Middleton wants William to reconcile with Harry. 

Harry and William shared many ups and downs in their lives as children. However, their brotherly bond came to an end when the Duke moved to the U.S. The Sussexes made bombshell revelations following the infamous Megxit. 

According to The Guardian, Harry wrote in his tell-all memoir Spare how a discussion about Markle became violent. In the book, the Duke noted that William caught him by the collar and threw him on the ground. He claimed that his elder brother “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and … knocked me to the floor.”

Harry wrote that the argument escalated after William described Meghan as “difficult,” “abrasive,” and “rude.” He said he was left with visible injuries after the confrontation and accused his brother of behaving like an heir rather than a sibling. Harry also wrote that William later said he had only been trying to help, although Harry did not accept that explanation.
