Shaquille O’Neal played in the NBA for 19 seasons, and his time with the Los Angeles Lakers is filled with legendary stories about some of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

One of the celebs Shaq had encounters with while playing in LA was Halle Berry, which he has spoken about several times in the past. Well, just when you thought you heard all the Hall of Famer’s tales with the actress, Shaq revealed his most embarrassing run-in with Berry when they were in an elevator together.

During a recent episode of Nitty Gritty with Nat, the four-time NBA champ recalled that he got into an elevator with the star at the Four Seasons in Dhoni.

“I remember one time I was in the elevator with Halle Berry, and my f****** stuttering kicked all the way back in,” Shaq said. “Crazy thing is, she was like, ‘Oh, hello, Shaquille. I’m a big fan of yours.'”

The big man shared other stories about Berry over the years that have had fans in stitches, but many people may not be aware that the two actually exchanged letters in the past noting that they were both fans of the other.

After seeing her in the film Jungle Fever, Shaq decided to write to her. In his memoir Shaq Uncut: My Story, he explained, “I thought she was so stunning, so I wrote her a letter. I was just kind of kidding around, telling her I was a big fan and I’d love to meet her sometime.

“A few weeks later, no lie, Halle Berry wrote me back. She sent me a signed picture that I still have hanging in my office. Turns out she’s a basketball fan. She wrote, ‘I’m a big fan of yours, too.'”
