Sonja Morgan is returning to reality television with The Golden Life. The show follows Morgan and some of her former Real Housewives of New York co-stars in Palm Beach. Morgan recently complained about the way that her co-stars treat her. While she didn’t name names, she said that her castmates bully her.

Luann de Lesseps claimed her ‘Golden Life’ co-star Sonja Morgan looks for money

Luann de Lesseps, who will star on The Golden Life, is currently appearing on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. In a recent episode, she joked that Morgan doesn’t go to anything unless “you’re waving $5,000 in front of [her] face.”

After this remark, Morgan opened up about not wanting to spend any time with her co-stars when they’re not on camera.

Sonja Morgan said that she faces bullying behind the scenes on ‘The Golden Life’

While Morgan did specifically comment on de Lessep’s remarks, she accused her castmates of treating her poorly.

“They’re usually sleuthing around to get something on me,” she told Page Six. “They’re constantly trying to get info that they can throw up on the show, instead of just being themselves and acting like themselves, and not be higher than mighty.”

She claimed that her castmates try to dig up information about her when they’re not filming to make her “look less than” on camera. She called this “bullying” and said it “gets annoying.” As a result, she doesn’t want to spend much time with them.

“When I’m not filming, I’m pretty much up to here with the girls who do that,” she said. “Sometimes, I feel like the girls just call me because they want to go where I’m going, or know what I’m knowing, and it doesn’t go that way.”

She said that she quit drinking before joining the show

Morgan, whose drunken antics played out on The Real Housewives of New York City, said that she was sober on The Golden Life. She stopped drinking after going on tour.

“After I did so many cities, because it just kept building since before COVID, I’ve been doing my tour. I got to the point where I was like, I can’t get up and fly to four cities in each state,” she told Us Weekly. “You get up, you fly, perform, get up in the morning, fly, perform four days in a row. California, you know, Vegas, all across the States. And I said, ‘I’m not going to be able to keep doing this.'”

She said that she began to ease up on her drinking before stopping altogether.

“At first I said, ‘OK, instead of drinking two shots of tequila, go on stage, be a comedian, have fun with everyone. I’ll just cut it down to one shot and then half shots in the drinks,'” she said. “And then after I got to no shot and then half shot, [before I thought], ‘It’s not even worth it because I was still waking up tired. Then, I just quit altogether.”

Morgan said that she was sober when she began filming The Golden Life.

“When I saw the girls in Palm Beach, I still wasn’t drinking. I was packing a lot of, you know, nonalcoholic drinks,” she said. “But you have to be careful with the sugar because alcohol, sugar, and the mocktails have sugar. So then I got to a happy medium there.”
