Stew From ‘Love Is Blind’ Was ‘Completely Shocked’ When Jax Ghosted Him After Reveal
Getting ghosted stings in any situation. But getting ghosted in front of an audience of millions? Well, there’s no way to prepare for that. Just as Scott “Stew” Stewart from Love Is Blind Season 11.
Stew from ‘Love Is Blind’ reacts to Jax’s rejection
Stew, 34, got engaged to Jacqueline “Jax” Guelli, 31, in episode 4 of Netflix’s hit reality show. But the pair’s big reveal didn’t go as either expected. After seeing her husband-to-be for the first time, Jax panicked.
During their time in the pods, Stew had told her that the other guys in the cast had given him the nicknamed “Kennedy” – as in JFK Jr. But Jax told producers that she felt he resembled another politician: Mitt Romney. She then announced that she wanted to go home, and that she had no desire to speak to Stew or explain her reasons for leaving.
On Sunday, Stew took to Instagram to share his thoughts on his Love Is Blind experience.
“How did I feel about the rejection? I mean, at the time, completely shocked, completely caught off guard. Did not see it coming,” he said.
“But unlike most of the bad dating moments in my life, I’ve been able to relive this one as many times as I’ve wanted to with you guys in real time,” he continued.
Stew added that “with the benefit of hindsight” he “maybe kinda should’ve seen that one coming,” joking that he shouldn’t have brought up the New England Patriots’ prospects for the coming year during his proposal.
“By the end of this, maybe there will be a ‘How not to propose through a wall 101,’” he quipped.
Despite the disappointment, Stew seemed to be taking Jax’s rejection in stride. And he said that he’d received plenty of support from Love Is Blind viewers.
“The comments, the DMs, everything have been fantastic,” he said. “You know, I’m glad how many of you had the opportunity to just laugh along with my missteps. It’s been a crazy ride.”
Jax admits her behavior was “immature”
Meanwhile, Jax has also shared her side of the disastrous post-engagement reveal, describing her behavior as “immature” and “selfish.”
“I wish I handled it differently,” she told Us Weekly. “At the time, I physically could not and I was so overwhelmed, [I] almost [had a] panic attack. So I just wanted to get out of there. But in retrospect, that is not how to handle things. It was completely immature. I cleared that up with him after, like, right away. But it was super dramatic, and it didn’t need to be like that. … I’ve worked on that.”
“It was completely selfish,” she added. “I just wanted to get out of there.”
New episodes of Love Is Blind stream Wednesdays on Netflix through November 8.
