Suede Brooks Said Drake Sent Her ‘Alarming’ Texts After Their Split That Made Her Afraid to Leave the House for Months
Drake and social media personality Suede Brooks were involved in 2022. She recently confirmed rumors that they dated on and off for several months. While she said they had a good relationship, their breakup was not nearly as pleasant. Brooks said that Drake sent her threatening messages that caused her to fear for her safety.
Suede Brooks briefly dated Drake
Brooks began dating Drake in 2022. She said that they met after he performed at her friend’s party. They spent the next several months dating on and off.
“It was amazing, he’s such a great guy… I feel like the narrative that was spun was, like, I kind of stepped onto his territory, when in reality, he came onto our program,” she said on Bunny Xo’s Dumb Blonde podcast. “He’s great.”
Still, she said that she hasn’t spoken to him in a while.
“I haven’t spoken to him in a minute,” she said. “I don’t really like to speak to a lot of my prior flings or men that I’ve dated in my past. Once you lose me, I’m gone.”
Suede Brooks opened up about her breakup from Drake
Brooks admitted that their relationship came to an end because they faced issues with “honesty.”
“He lives such a big, fulfilled, busy life,” she said. “I personally couldn’t keep up with that. I would go see him in Toronto, and then one day I was like, I’m tired of this.”
After they broke up, she alleged that Drake threatened to use his power to ruin her life.
“Especially when you’re dating someone of that caliber and with that power, when we did end things, I was very scared for my safety and for a lot of things, for a long time, living in LA,” she admitted. “The things he said to me were very alarming. I was 21 or 22 at the time, and when you hear those things said to you, coming from the most powerful artist in the world, that has so much power and can do things, the unimaginable, within the snap of a finger. It was very scary.”
She admitted that this left her terrified to leave her home.
She noted that she got “text messages that he’s gonna have b****es fold me up, verbatimly, that’s what he said,” she said, adding, “I didn’t leave my house for three months. I didn’t step outside. I didn’t, like, go out, at least.”
She said she doesn’t have any bad feelings towards him
Despite this, Brooks said she doesn’t hold onto any ill will.
“I have nothing but good things to say about him besides the fact that he, like, almost threatened me, which was scary at that age,” she said. “I don’t owe him anything… It was just scary at that age. Especially dealing with somebody like that, somebody that I also looked up to. I loved Drake growing up.”
She said that she enjoyed their relationship while it lasted.
