Sydney Sweeney Channels Marilyn Monroe at ‘The Housemaid’ Premiere
Sydney Sweeney went full glam at Monday’s premiere of The Housemaid.
The Euphoria star channeled silver screen legend Marilyn Monroe as she walked the red carpet at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles in a long white halter dress with a plunging neckline and a feather-trimmed skirt. Sweeney’s custom look by designer Galia Lahav recalled the iconic full-skirted white dress Monroe wore in The Seven-Year Itch. Her hair was in loose waves and she leaned into the vintage style with a bold red lip.

For the after party later that evening, Sweeney swapped the glamorous gown for a strapless white minidress with floral appliques.
Sweeney’s red carpet style for the Hollywood debut of the highly anticipated Paul Feig movie was similar to the outfit she wore to the movie’s New York City premiere in early December. For that event, she chose a figure-hugging silvery Miu Miu gown and accessorized with a feather boa.
Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried co-star in ‘The Housemaid’
Sweeney co-stars with Amanda Seyfried in The Housemaid, which is adapted from the best-selling novel by Freida McFadden. She plays Millie Calloway, a young woman with a troubled past who takes a job as a live-in maid for a wealthy family. On the surface, Millie’s employers Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar) seem to have the perfect life. But their facade crumbles as Millie discovers their dark secrets.
Sweeney said she couldn’t wait to dive into the juicy psychological thriller.
“I’m obsessed with the book,” she told Hola! “The moment I opened it, I couldn’t put it down. I ended up listening to the audiobooks of the second and third installments while painting. I was obsessed; I loved it.”
The Housemaid is in theaters December 19.
