Kim Kardashian was spotted at the Monaco Grand Prix over the weekend along with her sister Khloé Kardashian as she supported her beau, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton. Now, an expert is sharing how Kim “made it clear” that she was solely there for Lewis’ race.

Darren Stanton is a body language and behavioral expert. He previously worked as a police officer and used his expertise to uncover the truth when interviewing hundreds of suspects. He later moved into media and TV as a consultant and has been dubbed the “Human Lie Detector.”

Speaking on behalf of Covers.com, Stanton told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “Kim has her head down and dark sunglasses on which, apart from protecting herself from the sunshine, is also a tactic to create a social distance from her and everyone around her. Her posture is down, she’s making it clear she’s off duty, [and] she’s not engaging with the press.

“She is solely there to support Lewis and not there for her own benefit. She’s not engaging in any interaction, almost showing a real respect to Lewis. She’s not here in her own right at all. She’s not showing negative expressions, purely neutral, and no eye contact with anyone in particular. A reminder it’s Lewis’s day and not hers.”

Stanton added, “She does tilt her head slightly towards the cameras, she does acknowledge them and isn’t ignoring them, but she does make it very clear from her lack of engagement that the day is not about her, it’s about Lewis. This is very respectful, and no one asks for photos or tries to engage either. She’s very controlled here, very aware of the media and the attention she might get.”

Showbiz Cheat Sheet acknowledges that conditions and cultures can impact body language and is sensitive to all backgrounds.
