The House at the Center of D4vd’s Murder Trial Can’t Find a Tenant
More than a year after police raided a Hollywood Hills rental property connected to singer D4vd and the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the home is struggling to find a new tenant, and the asking price has now dropped for the second time as it continues sitting vacant. The high-profile nature of the case might be the reason why no one is interested in renting the home.
Landlord struggles to rent the “murder house” where singer D4vd allegedly killed a teen
A landlord in Hollywood is having a difficult time renting out a home that D4vd once lived in. According to real estate records obtained by TMZ, the Hollywood Hills home where prosecutors say D4vd lay in wait to ambush Celeste Rivas Hernandez has sat vacant for months, even after a price drop.
The four-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom luxury property returned to the market in February 2026, months before D4vd was arrested and charged with the murder of 14-year-old Celeste. The home was first listed for $23,950 per month. In August, the landlord dropped the rental price by 10%, relisting the home at $21,500 per month.
It appears that the home has sat vacant since D4vd moved out following a police raid in September 2025, weeks after the body of Celeste was found inside the trunk of a Tesla registered to the musician. The car had been towed after it sat unattended on a nearby street for a number of days.
The home was originally leased by D4vd’s manager in February 2024 for $20,000 a month. Following the police raid, D4vd’s team approached the landlord asking to end the lease early; he agreed. Movers were reportedly seen hauling D4vd’s belongings from the property shortly after the September 17 search.
How is the house linked to the murder?
The home, a luxury property in an upscale neighborhood of Los Angeles, allegedly turned into a house of horrors in April 2025. According to prosecutors, Celeste, then 14, arrived at the rental property in April 2025 via Uber sent by the singer. Prosecutors contend that D4vd lured the teen to the house and killed her, fearing she’d go public about the sexual abuse she suffered at his hands.
Court records show that evidence recovered from the garage, including biological samples that tested positive for blood, is consistent with an attempt to dismember a body. Prosecutors believe the teen was killed on the same night that she arrived at D4vd’s rental property. Her family had not heard from her since that evening, though it is unclear if they knew she had left her family home in Lake Elsinore to meet with D4vd that day.
The home’s owner, Mladen Trifunovic, told TMZ the property had an external security camera system in place well before D4vd’s lease began, positioned at entry points around the backyard and street. Trifunovic said he doesn’t have direct access to the footage himself; instead, he said, tenants can gain access via a security company. It is unclear if D4vd used the cameras.
When is D4vd’s next court date?
While Trifunovic is still quietly trying to rent the property, prosecutors are moving forward with a murder case that could send D4vd to prison for the rest of his life. He has been charged with first-degree murder, with special circumstances including lying in wait, murder for financial gain, and murder of a witness. Additionally, he is charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child and unlawful mutilation of human remains. The most serious charge makes him eligible for the death penalty.
He is being held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles while he awaits trial. He is expected back in court on August 31, though an official trial date has not yet been set.
