Taylor Frankie Paul is still very much a part of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. 

On Wednesday, Hulu dropped the first trailer for the the fifth season of the hit reality show, which premieres September 10. And Paul appears to be a strong presence in the abbreviated, five-episode season.

The trailer opens with Paul’s co-stars commenting on her messy personal drama, which made tabloid headlines earlier this year when a video of her attacking ex Dakota Mortensen in 2023 surfaced online. 

“There’s so much stuff the public doesn’t know,” Mayci Neeley says in a confessional. 

“How did she even get here?” Miranda Hope asks just before the clip shows footage of a tearful Paul being comforted by her castmates. 

Neeley tells a producer that the situation has “spiraled,” while Jessi Draper seems to compare Paul and Mortensen to famous literary couple. 

“They’re like Romeo and Juliet for the TikTok age,” she says. 

In another moment from the trailer, Mortensen – who is on a video call with Paul – reveals that he got her initials tattooed on his lips.

“It’s giving obsessed,” she tells him. 

“I am obsessed,” he replies. (Paul actually cited the tattoo in her request for a protective order earlier this year, calling it “alarming” and a sign of his “increasingly possessive and erratic behavior,” People reported.) 

“We might have to have a little drama,” Draper says in a confessional. “Which is not rare for MomTok.”

Why ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Season 5 has only five episodes 

Earlier this year, Hulu halted production on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 after the video of Paul and Mortensen’s explosive argument (which led to her arrest) made the rounds on social media. ABC also pulled Paul’s forthcoming season of The Bachelorette, while SLOMW ultimately decided to cut the upcoming season short, picking up cameras to capture the cast’s reaction to the drama.

But Paul’s legal saga doesn’t spell the end of SLOMW. Earlier this month, Hulu ordered 20 new episodes of the show, which will make up seasons 6 and 7. Filming is underway now, according to reports. 

All five episodes of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premiere Thursday, September 10 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
