Taylor Frankie Paul has at least one member of MomTok in her corner as she deals with the ongoing fallout from a video that shows her attacking her ex, Dakota Mortensen.  

Taylor Frankie Paul wants to help people who feel ‘stuck and silent’

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star lost her gig as this year’s Bachelorette and also had to step away from filming the Hulu reality series as her dysfunctional relationship with Mortensen made headlines earlier this year. 

In 2023, Paul pleaded guilty to assaulting Mortensen and was sentenced to three years of probation, which she recently completed. But her problems with Mortensen – with whom she shares a son, Ever – haven’t gone away. The pair were involved in another incident earlier this year. 

In recently posts on her Instagram, Paul has been speaking out about domestic violence, including reactive abuse. (Reactive abuse happens when a victim lashes out at their abuser; that response may then be weaponized against the victim by their abuser.) 

“I never claimed complete innocence, in fact I am looking forward to sharing my faults because I believe that’s the very issue of what keeps people stuck and silent,” she captioned a recent video where she discussed PTSD and her own limited understanding of domestic violence before her relationship with Mortensen.

“Those who feel guilt are trying to understand what is happening and questioning their own self. I also strongly believe intention and context matters when it comes to domestic violence situations,” she added.

Paul’s candid comments got a thumbs-up from her SLOMW co-star Jessi Draper. 

“Love you,” Draper replied. “No one quite understands how it feels to heal from this until they’ve been through it. You’re healing from abuse while also unlearning bad behaviors/habits you took on in that relationship. Proud of you.”

Draper has accused her estranged husband, Jordan Ngatikaura, of emotional abuse. During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast in March, she said she made excuses for her ex’s behavior until people pointed out that his actions were unacceptable. 

They were like, ‘Jessi, this isn’t normal.’ It felt like the glass had shattered,” she said. 

Several other reality TV stars also showed their support for Paul. 

“So powerful. Your sharing is helping so many people. Keep going,” commented OG Bachelorette star Trisha Sutter. 

“So proud of you for speaking out,” wrote The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Braunwyn Windham Burke.
