Tragic New Details Emerge About Death of ‘Storage Wars’ Star Darrell Sheets
Cyberbullying played a role in the death of Storage Wars star Darrell Sheets.
In a note found after Sheets, 67, died by suicide in April 2026, he referenced an online harassment campaign against him, according to a police report obtained by TMZ.
“I could not take anymore, the Facebook bullying,” he wrote. “F*** you, [redacted],” he added.
Darrell Sheets’ girlfriend shares details about events leading up to his death
The note was found in a bathroom in a basket on top of a pile of other documents, according to TMZ.
Sheets’ girlfriend also spoke to police about the night he died, saying that he struggled to fall sleep and got out of bed. She found him standing in the doorway of his office, and he told her to go back to bed. She then heard a gunshot.
The girlfriend also said that Sheets had an argument with his son in the days before his death, and that he’d been experiencing severe insomnia for months.
Police in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where Sheets died on April 22, have apparently made contact with the person Sheets referenced in his note. However, that individual was “extremely uncooperative,” according to Us Weekly.
‘Storage Wars’ co-star said Sheets was being cyberbullied
Soon after Sheets’ death, his Storage Wars co-star Rene Nezhoda spoke out, saying that he had heard that his fellow A&E reality show alum was being cyberbullied. Before his death, Sheets – who was known as “The Gambler” on the popular series – had posted on Facebook about being “hacked by a very evil person.”
“People are showing up to my work and wanting to harm me,” he wrote. “The police are aware of this but [their] hands are tied because Facebook allows this and it is very bad.”
Sheets said he was not the only victim of the cyber stalker.
“He has been going after other small businesses in town and harassing them, using my name,” Sheets alleged. “It is not me! He has extorted money from many people in this town acting like a handyman.”
Storage Wars premiered in 2010. Sheets was part of the original cast of treasure-hunters bidding on abandoned storage lockers. He left the show in 2023.
