Who Is Jason Galanis? The Convicted Con Man Now Engaged to Savannah Chrisley
Savannah Chrisley has a wedding – and a baby – on the way.
On October 27, the Chrisley Knows Best alum, 29, announced that she was engaged and expecting a baby with Jason Galanis, who is 27 years her senior.
“I’ve prayed for this life. I’ve cried for this life. And there were moments I truly wondered if this life would ever be mine … then God sent me J,” she wrote on Instagram. “My protector. My fiercest fighter. My most loyal person. My lover. My safe place. A man with the patience of Job … For the first time in a long time, I feel safe. I feel fulfilled. I can finally exhale. I found my forever in you. And just when I thought my heart couldn’t hold any more love, God gave us our sweetest blessing yet… we’re having a BABY!”
Savannah didn’t share her future husband’s full name in her post. But Us Weekly identified him as Galanis.
So, who is the man who has Savannah so over the moon? Galanis has a checkered past, to say the least. The 56-year-old is a convicted con artist who served time behind bars with Savannah’s dad, Todd Chrisley. (Galanis is just one year younger than his soon-to-be father-in-law.) In September 2020, he was sentenced to 189 months in prison for his role in a stock manipulation scheme, as well as for scheming to defraud a Native American tribe and investors out of tens of millions of dollars.
In March 2025, President Donald Trump pardoned Galanis. Trump’s move came after Galanis, who was an associate of Hunter Biden, testified in the Republican impeachment inquiry into President Biden in August 2024, according to Politico.
Two months after Galanis was freed, Trump pardoned Todd Chrisley and his wife, Julie Chrisley. Both were serving time in federal prison after being convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud.
Before their pardons, Galanis and Todd Chrisley were incarcerated at a federal prison camp in Pensacola, Florida, according to Page Six. Both men were at the facility from January to August 2023.
Savannah hasn’t shared her take on Galanis’ criminal past. But on her Unlocked podcast she did reveal that they “met in the world of politics.” She also defended her age-gap romance.
“His body is great. His mind is even sharper. So I really don’t care, OK?” she said. “Like, this person is the love of my life. And it made all the heartbreak that I’ve gone through worth it. And all the heartbreak taught me something. It taught me what I want, what I don’t want, what I should accept, what I shouldn’t accept.”
