What’s going on in ‘Snowfall’ Season 5?

The latest episode of Snowfall followed Franklin (Damson Idris) after attempted hits on him and his family. He’d been out with Reed (Carter Hudson) and Gustavo “El Oso” Zapata (Sergio Peris-Mencheta) when someone pulled up and started to fire, nearly killing them.

When Franklin reached a payphone, he called Jerome (Amin Joseph), only to learn that there had also been an attempted hit on him, Cissy Saint (Michael Hyatt), Aunt Louie (Angela Lewis), and Veronique Turner (Devyn Tyler). They were shaken up, but luckily, everyone was OK.

A third attack happened when Leon Simmons (Isaiah John) was meeting up with Avi (Alon Abutbul), resulting in the death of one of Avi’s men. Leon shot back, causing one of the shooters to fall out of the car. But Leon did not recognize the man and was unable to find any identification on him.

‘Snowfall’ Season 5 Episode 6 confirmed a fan theory

Franklin and his camp initially had no idea who was behind the attack, but some viewers knew immediately that it was Kevin’s brother, Kane. It was announced ahead of Snowfall Season 5 that Kane would be involved in the show, after all, and some thought it was because he wanted revenge for what happened to Kevin.

It turns out that was correct. When Franklin learned Kane had been released from jail, he connected the dots and went to meet with him. Kane was not intimidated at all, even threatening to come at Franklin again. “Next time I have better people. Next time I get it right,” he said.

When Franklin tried to warn him about what he could do to him, Kane dared him to do something. Though he left quietly, it’s clear that this won’t be the end of this issue.

What to expect in the next episode

In the preview for Snowfall Season 5 Episode 7, Leon, perhaps knowing what Franklin is capable of, meets up with Kane and warns him again. However, Kane can’t get past the pain of what happened to his family.

The last thing that Franklin’s camp wants is another war, but Jerome notes, “We’re already at war.” The trailer also includes glimpses of Teddy back at work and a tense conversation between Franklin and his mother. Watch the clip on YouTube.
