Amanda Batula Said ChatGPT Wrote Her Controversial Relationship Reveal Statement
In March, Amanda Batula and West Wilson revealed their relationship through a joint Instagram post. The post did not go over well with fans of Summer House or her castmates. At the reunion, Batula joked that she used ChatGPT to write the statement.
Amanda Batula and West Wilson released a statement revealing their relationship
After a period of speculation, Batula and Wilson shared a post revealing that they were in a relationship.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity,” the statement began. “It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”
They noted that their romantic connection “grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship.” They also expressed regret to anyone they may have hurt with their relationship. Notably, however, they did not directly apologize to Batula’s ex-husband, Kyle Cooke, or her close friend, Ciara Miller. Miller was previously involved with Wilson.
“As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling. We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless,” they concluded. “We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.”
The statement sparked immediate backlash from the cast and the show’s fans.
Amanda Batula joked that ChatGPT wrote the statement
Batula and Wilson have been spending much of the Summer House reunion in the hot seat. While discussing the statement, Batula said she was “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” with it (via Us Weekly). She also noted that it was “clearly not” written with the assistance of a PR person.
Batula then joked that ChatGPT wrote the statement. Miller didn’t appreciate this.
“ChatGPT’s a lot smarter than that statement,” she said.
Andy Cohen said the statement surprised him
Ahead of the reunion, Andy Cohen said he had many questions about the statement that Batula and Wilson put out.
“I was surprised by the statement. I was surprised by what it said, and I was surprised by what it didn’t say,” he said on Sirius XM’s Andy Cohen Live, adding, “I have so many questions, and the reunion is coming up and, boy, do I have a lot of questions.”
Many people pointed out the fact that they did not name Cooke or Miller. At the reunion, Batula said she wanted to apologize directly.
“I’m prepared to own up to what I’ve done, take accountability, apologize – especially to Ciara and Kyle — and just hopefully be able to explain to everyone’s face what went on and where I’m coming from,” she said.
Miller then referenced the fact that the relationship confirmation hadn’t mentioned them.
“I’m glad you can say our name[s] this time,” she said.
