Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ prison release date recently moved up to early 2028. In 2025, Combs received a 50-month prison sentence with an initial release date of June 4, 2028. Now, he is projected to leave prison on Feb. 23, 2028. This is likely because he entered a drug rehab facility behind bars. His representative said Combs remains committed to bettering himself, though he denies that he ever assaulted anyone. Despite this, Combs currently faces over 70 civil lawsuits.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is focused on rehabilitation in prison, said his rep

Combs has been in prison for the past seven months. In this time, his lawyer, Juda Engelmayer, said Combs remains focused on his appeal. He hopes for a reduced sentence or a new trial.

“He’s focused on the appeal,” Engelmayer told Us Weekly, “and looking back at his life and trying to figure out ways to improve and be a better person.”

Engelmayer explained that Combs is currently working in the prison library. While there, he reportedly tries to build relationships with his fellow inmates.

“He’s trying to be one of the guys. He’s congenial and helpful,” he said, adding, “He sits down one-on-one with people [and] talks to them and helps counsel some of them. He has a following and people like him [but] he also spends a lot of time by himself.”

Engelmayer also said that meditation and prayer have “become part of his faith and therapy journey.” He was also participating in Fort Dix’s Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), which helped reduce his sentence.

He still faces many lawsuits

While Combs is reportedly working on bettering himself while behind bars, he still faces a long legal battle. He currently faces upwards of 70 lawsuits from accusers across the country. The most recent comes from a former child actor, who alleges that Combs assaulted him at a networking event.

In his suit, the anonymous actor alleges that Combs asked to speak to him privately. Combs allegedly then began “rubbing on parts of his body” before performing oral sex while “pleasuring” himself. John Doe says that he told Combs he was uncomfortable before this began.

Combs’ team has denied this assault allegation, slamming it as a cash grab.

“The allegations from this so-called nameless child actor are false and ridiculous,” Engelmayer said in a statement to the Daily Mail. “He’s just another hater in a long list of people trying to get in on the money gravy train encouraged by personal injury lawyers.”

They have repeatedly denied that Combs has assaulted anyone despite the staggering number of allegations against him.

“Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone — and that includes any child!” Engelmayer said. “These allegations will be disproved like all the rest.”

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs wants to repair his reputation after prison

Public opinion has sharply turned on Combs since footage of him attacking Cassie Ventura surfaced. During his trial, many people’s view of him only sank further. Still, he hopes to reestablish good standing after his prison sentence.

“The black cloud over [Combs’] future is the way he’s viewed and being seen by the public, and the way some people are taking shots at him, which he wants to correct,” said Engelmayer.

He added that Combs doesn’t like to see negative stories about himself.

“It’s not easy to read stuff about yourself on a regular basis,” he said. “They do have television [at Fort Dix]. It hurts, but he’s being very strong.”
