Heather Dubrow Called Carmella Garcia ‘Trashy-Looking’ Off-Camera While Comforting Her On-Camera
During a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Heather Dubrow defended newbie Housewife Carmella Garcia against Vicki Gunvalson. Gunvalson questioned Garcia’s parenting choices, leading Dubrow to tell her to drop the subject. According to other cast members, Dubrow wasn’t as supportive of Garcia behind the scenes.
Heather Dubrow defended Carmella Garcia on-camera on ‘RHOC’
Garcia joined the cast of RHOC for its 20th season. During a group trip, Gunvalson questioned why Garcia lived in Orange County while her teenage children live in Rancho Santa Fe, near San Diego.
“You left your kids in San Diego,” Gunvalson told her. “That’s bizarre to me!”
Dubrow was quick to comfort and defend Garcia. She told Gunvalson to drop the subject.
Heather Dubrow reportedly insulted Carmella Garcia off-camera
The other cast members took issue with Dubrow’s defense of Garcia. Tamra Judge said that she thinks the way Dubrow treats Garcia is hypocritical.
“When Carmella’s not around, [Heather] says a lot about Carmella,” she said. “She’s over here going, ‘She doesn’t fit in.’ But then, when she was crying at the table, Heather was the first one to go over there and coddle her.”
Emily Simpson added that she has heard Dubrow say that Garcia “shouldn’t be in this group.”
“Heather was not a fan of Carmella when we first met her,” Simpson said. “She made it very clear, multiple times, off-camera, that she thought that she was trashy-looking. And that she didn’t fit in with the group and that she shouldn’t be here.”
Simpson said she felt it would devastate Garcia if she knew the way that Dubrow had spoken about her. Shannon Beador and Jenn Pedranti also said that they didn’t think Dubrow was being truthful about the way she felt about Garcia.
“It feels like Heather has moves that she makes off-camera,” Pedranti said. “It feels calculated.”
