Jax Taylor is off the market.

The Vanderpump Rules alum has confirmed that he is dating someone in his first public romance since splitting from Brittany Cartwright in early 2024.

After he shared a photo of himself lounging in the pool on his Instagram on July 29, someone commented that the reality TV vet should be the next Bachelor.

“No thanks I am taken,” the Bravo star replied.

Jax’s comment came shortly after reports surfaced that he was dating his publicist, Lori Krebs. Krebs was also Brittany’s publicist until photos revealing her relationship with Jax leaked to the media.

Jax and Brittany had an infamously chaotic relationship that played out over their years on Vanderpump Rules and its spinoff series, The Valley. The couple eventually split over Jax’s addiction and anger issues.

Since leaving The Valley last year, Jax has said that he is working on his mental health and issues with substance abuse. If he’s successful, that may put the Bravo bad boy in a better position to have a successful relationship. But finding lasting stability could be a challenge, based on his astrological chart.

Born on July 11, 1979, Jax is a Cancer Sun with an Aquarius Moon. In theory, that Cancer sun sign should make him a sensitive, family-oriented homebody. Anyone who’s seen Jax on TV knows that’s not quite who he is. But dig a little deeper, and it becomes clear how his Crab tendencies have shaped his love life, as well as providing a roadmap on how the stars might affect his future romantic relationships.

Cancers like Jax Taylor can be defensive

Cancers are the homebodies of the zodiac and are often natural caregivers. At the same time, they may also seek out caregiving partners who offer safety and emotional comfort. Jax’s relationship with Brittany, who is an Aquarius Sun with a nurturing Virgo Moon, is a classic example.

Jax’s Cancer side also comes out in his defensiveness and tendency to shut down. When people with this sign feel threatened, their hard outer shell snaps shut. Rather than being vulnerable, Jax often projects, deflects, or closes himself off entirely.

Going forward, Jax may continue to seek out partners who try to “fix” or nurture him – just like Brittany did. But if he relies on someone else to carry his emotional baggage, it will only lead to another bitter breakup.

The ‘Vanderpump Rules’ alum could hold a serious grudge

Cancers like Jax are water signs who are deeply connected to the past. They may struggle to break free of old attachments, even when a relationship is toxic. That can help explain why Jax was so reluctant to let Brittany go, even when it was clear that the relationship was no longer serving either of them. Cancers may also get caught up in vicious emotional loops. Without conscious effort to change, that can lead to cycles of self-sabotage followed by intense guilt and promises to be better.

Water signs like Cancers can also equate emotional drama with true passion. Because Cancers hold on to emotional scars, Jax may test his new partner by creating chaos just to see if they will stay. His new relationship with Krebs could also be a way of acting out a lingering grudge against Brittany by getting involved with someone to whom she was also close.

Bravo star indulges in impulsive behavior

Jax’s Cancer sun craves security. But his Aquarius Moon wants independence. The result? A tug-of-war between his Cancerian need for a stable home life and his Aquarian urge to break the rules and act impulsively. (He’s admitted to cheating on Brittany at least once.) If Jax feels trapped by routine or weighted down by responsibilities, he might abruptly detach.

That impulse can be a problem in long-term relationships, especially after the initial “honeymoon phase” passes. If Jax’s Aquarius Moon gets restless, it could lead to boundary crossing or a sudden breakup.

Jax needs a partner who is independent

Based on the ugly end of his marriage to Brittany (which included aggressive behavior and verbal and emotional abuse), Jax won’t be able to have a successful relationship until he works on his own issues. If and when he’s really ready pursue a lasting relationship, he should seek out a partner who values independence. Someone with strong Earth (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) or Air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) placements might mesh well with his Aquarius moon.

Jax also needs to learn to practice radical honesty and avoid retreating into his Cancer shell when things get tough. And his new partner needs to understand that he will thrive when he balances a quiet homelife with more exciting and novel adventures.
