Josh Duggar’s Lawyer Insists He’s Just Fine, Despite Medical Prison Transfer
Josh Duggar’s attorney insists that there is nothing to see here. Beau Brindley recently spoke out after Josh Duggar was transferred from FCI Seagoville to the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. It isn’t uncommon for inmates to be transferred between federal prisons, but a move to an institution earmarked for inmates with complex medical issues is noteworthy. Still, his lawyer says the disgraced former reality TV star is well.
Josh Duggar has changed addresses
There are a lot of Duggar family members on the move, but most family followers didn’t expect Josh Duggar to get a new address. That is exactly what happened, though. Josh is currently serving a 12-year sentence for possessing and receiving child pornography, and has been doing so at FCI Seagoville since 2022, when he was sentenced. Things changed suddenly on May 29, though.

On that day, Josh left FCI Seagoville and popped up at the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. While the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed the move, it did not disclose the reason behind it. It is standard policy not to discuss individual inmates, so it was unsurprising that no further information was offered.
The move has raised questions because of the designation of Josh’s new home. FMC Fort Worth is described on the BOP’s website as an administrative-security medical center that provides enhanced care for severely ill inmates who require inpatient management or intensive monitoring. Josh was physically healthy when he was sentenced and moved into FCI Seagoville. His family has not announced that anything has changed, but the new facility certainly suggests something is either physically or mentally awry. Space at the facility is limited and is generally reserved for ailing inmates.
Beau Brindley has an explanation…sort of
Beau Brindley was contacted by TMZ in the immediate aftermath of the news. Brindley, who has only been representing Josh Duggar for a short time, said the BOP does not provide advance notice of transfers and that his team was looking into the situation. The famed attorney, best known for working with R. Kelly, told the outlet that he had spoken to Duggar a few weeks earlier, and he seemed well and was not ill. Brindley then went dark.
He has since resurfaced to add another update to Josh Duggar’s moving saga, though it doesn’t seem to make much sense. Brindley recently claimed that the move was completely “routine” and that no medical issue had cropped up to prompt the move. Brindley did not go into further detail, which just adds a layer of mystery to the move.
Initially, some Duggar family followers theorized that Josh had been transferred out of FCI Seagoville after a series of disciplinary issues and was simply at the medical center as an interim landing spot. Weeks later, though, he is still at the medical center, and there don’t appear to be any signs he’ll be moving yet again.
It seems like Beau Brindley will be keeping the reason for the move under wraps, and Josh’s family isn’t going to be speaking. He has limited contact with most of his siblings, and his wife, Anna, remains largely under the radar. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for any additional changes, though.
