Was Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton’s Grand Prix PDA All for the Cameras?
People cannot stop talking about the sweet moment seen between Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton at the Singapore Grand Prix. The two were spotted on Oct. 11 sharing an embrace before Hamilton headed off to race.
But is this new romance serious for the couple, particularly for the SKIMS founder who has had quite a few relationships play out in the spotlight, including her marriages and divorces from Kris Humphries and Kanye West?
Well, an expert who has analyzed the footage of the pair at the event is weighing in with what they actually see going on between Kardashian and Hamilton.
Speaking on behalf of social casino ACE.com, Dr. Abbie Maroño told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “Their dynamic appears playful, affectionate, and comfortable, with a level of familiarity that suggests they’ve already developed a strong connection.
“There’s a natural ease to the way they interact, particularly in how confidently they express affection and how comfortably that affection is received. They don’t appear to be cautiously testing each other’s reactions or seeking reassurance. Instead, there’s a sense that they already know one another well and feel secure in that closeness.”
Dr. Maroño noted that the most revealing feature is the combination of flirtation and physical familiarity between the reality star and Formula 1 driver.
“What’s particularly interesting is the combination of playfulness and familiarity,” she said. “We often associate the early stages of romance with excitement, flirtation, and a desire to spend as much time together as possible.
“As relationships develop, we tend to see greater physical comfort and confidence in how affection is expressed. Their interaction appears to have elements of both. There’s an almost teasing quality to their affection, particularly in Kim’s reluctance to let Lewis go, alongside a sense that physical intimacy has already become a natural part of their relationship.”
Although Hamilton initiates the closeness, Dr. Maroño interprets Kardashian’s increasingly expressive response as a sign of reciprocal affection, explaining, “There’s also an interesting balance between them. Lewis appears more openly affectionate from the beginning, while Kim’s affection becomes increasingly expressive as the interaction develops.
“This suggests a dynamic in which they feel comfortable expressing affection differently without needing to constantly mirror one another. One person can initiate contact while the other finds ways to maintain it, and both contribute to the connection. Their interaction doesn’t feel like one person is pursuing affection while the other is simply accepting it. There’s a clear sense of mutual interest and enjoyment.”
The expert added that the return to their individual responsibilities also stands out, and there is little apparent awkwardness in the transition, saying, “Another interesting aspect is how easily they move between affection and their individual responsibilities. They can share a moment of intimacy, enjoy that closeness, and then return to what they were doing without any apparent awkwardness.
“That ease suggests they’re comfortable navigating their relationship within the demands of their public lives. Neither appears to need to make the interaction into a performance for the cameras, and their affection feels like a natural part of being together.”
Dr. Maroño concluded, “Overall, their body language gives the impression of a relationship that has the excitement and playfulness of a new romance, but the comfort and familiarity of a more established connection. There’s a sense of mutual attraction, but also genuine enjoyment in simply being around one another.
“The playful reluctance to separate, the confidence in their physical affection, and the ease with which they interact suggest two people who are not only attracted to each other but have developed a connection in which they feel comfortable, wanted, and secure.”
Showbiz Cheat Sheet acknowledges that conditions and cultures can impact body language and is sensitive to all backgrounds.
