Megan Thee Stallion Hinted at 1 Reason Besides Cheating for Her Klay Thompson Split
After less than a year of dating, Megan Thee Stallion ended things with Klay Thompson. In a statement and later Instagram post, Megan accused him of infidelity. She recently opened up about the split. While she did note that cheating led to the end, she also insinuated that the relationship had issues before she learned about his digressions.

In early 2026, Megan publicly announced that she ended her relationship with Thompson. She accused him of infidelity.
“I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay,” she said in a statement. “Trust, fidelity, and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
She also got into further detail about their relationship in an Instagram post.
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet,’” she wrote. “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’???? B**** I need a REAL break after this one .. bye yall.”
Megan Thee Stallion gave a hint at another reason for the end of her Klay Thompson romance
She opened up about the painful split in a recent interview. While she spoke about infidelity, she also hinted that he was not a supportive partner.
“I cannot be disrespected,” she told InStyle, adding, “I cannot be a person who is not gonna be me. I cannot not go to work. I’m going to be Megan Thee Stallion.”
She believed that he didn’t view her as an equal.
“I’m not a person who is in the house 24/7. I’m never going to be that. And whoever dates me is gonna have to just understand, like, she is her own person. She’s her own boss,” she said, adding, “I cannot be minimized. I will not be behind any man. I will have a partner.”
She added that this has taught her what she will and won’t tolerate in relationships moving forward.
“I will be equals with my partner. I’m never gonna take the backseat to anything,” she said. “So just going forward, I think I’ve just learned this is the type of person that I want to be with, this is what I will tolerate, this is what I won’t tolerate. And if you can’t take that, we just gotta respectfully go our separate ways.”
She spoke about what it’s like to be single
Months after the split, Megan admitted that she still struggles with the pain of it.
“I’m trying my best,” she said. “I feel like I’ve been put through the washing machine and the dryer with tins, shovels, and a cactus. It was very rough.”
Still, she said that she generally enjoys being single.
“Being by yourself is okay. Like, I ain’t smiled so much in so long. Like, I’m outside twirling in the grass like, Wow, it’s a beautiful day outside!” she said. “I don’t know the last time I did that.”
