Stephen A. Smith Slams Megan Thee Stallion for Airing Out Klay Thompson’s ‘Business’ After Breakup
As Megan Thee Stallion navigates her breakup from NBA star Klay Thompson, sports analyst Stephen A. Smith weighed in with advice for the rapper. Megan accused Thompson of infidelity during their relationship. Smith told her to “be worthy’ in her relationships by not talking about the details publicly.
Megan Thee Stallion publicly called out Klay Thompson after their breakup
Megan and Thompson began their relationship during the summer of 2025. She spoke glowingly about him and met his family. Less than a year later, though, the couple called it quits.
“I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay,” she said in a statement, per Billboard. “Trust, fidelity, and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
In a post to her Instagram Stories, Megan slammed Thompson for the way he treated her.
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet,’” she wrote. “Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’???? B**** I need a REAL break after this one .. bye yall.”
Stephen A. Smith addressed Megan Thee Stallion after her breakup
Fans have rushed to Megan’s defense after she announced the end of her relationship. Smith took a slightly different approach. On his Straight Shooter podcast, he wondered, “Why is she telling his business?”
Smith said that he was a fan of Megan, but he felt she shouldn’t have shared the details of her breakup.
“It’s simple, ladies. Your private business is your private business. Talking to your friends, talking to your inner circle, that’s one thing. Spreading it out on TMZ, Page Six for the world to know,” he said. “You’re looking for society to help you police what is your responsibility to handle. You want a man dedicated to you? Be worthy of being dedicated to.”
He implied that this could be the reason that Thompson cheated on her.
“How come you couldn’t just break up and go on your merry way?” he asked. “Why is that necessary? How come we can’t have a private relationship? Then you wonder why dudes don’t want to be seen with your a**es because you got to worry about if things go awry, what you going to be talking about?”
Is Stephen A. Smith married?
Smith generally follows his own advice and keeps his personal life to himself. Still, he disclosed to GQ that he was once engaged but the relationship ended. He is not married, but he has two daughters.
“It’s a blessing [to have children],” he said, “but that love is also a curse, because you’re never, ever, ever at peace.”
