New ‘RHOBH’ Star Tracy Tutor Dishes on $30,000 Per Month Wardrobe Budget
Real Housewives newbie Tracy Tutor is spilling the details on just how much work is involved in appearing on one of Bravo’s flagship shows.
Tutor was recently a guest on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live, where she discussed joining the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for its upcoming season. While she’s no stranger to reality TV, the Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles vet says filming RHOBH is a different beast.
“It’s a lot. I’m exhausted. I don’t really have time for any kind of social life right now,” Tutor said. “I just lock myself in my house when I’m done filming and and then I work and when I’m not filming.”
Becoming a full-time Housewife isn’t just a significant time commitment. Tutor often films five days a week, and she needs a wardrobe that is camera-ready.
“From what I remember, you said you spend about $30,000 a month on clothes. Did you have to up that budget for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?” Lewis asked.
“I’m not going to say that the budget has gone up. It’s just a longer period of time that we’re shooting. I mean, you know, there’s you’re shooting four or five days a week sometimes,” the luxury real estate agent replied. “[It’s] a lot of looks.”
Fortunately, Tutor — who also revealed that she’s currently filming new episodes — doesn’t need to go full glam every day.
“For like big events, I’ll do something [new] because, you know, sometimes it’s a theme or sometimes it’s a little bit different and you need something a little more special,” Tutor said. “But, you know, there’s a lot. There’s a lot of jeans. You know, when you’re at home, what are you throwing on a gown to go to the mailbox?”
Tutor also spoke about the RHOBH casting process. She shared that she got a call from Real Housewives producer Alex Baskin offering her a spot in the cast.
“He called you. And he said, ‘We’re interested. Are you interested?’” Lewis asked.
“Correct,” Tutor replied.
Tutor also shared that her RHOBH casting didn’t involve any negotiation over her salary.
“Was there a lot of negotiation over money? Or was like, ‘This is it. This is the money,’” Lewis asked.
“That’s the money,” Tutor confirmed.
