Prince William Showed ‘Royal Nerves’ on ‘New Heights’ Podcast as Travis Kelce ‘Panics’ Over Mention of Taylor Swift
Just hours before he and Taylor Swift walked down the aisle, Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce, dropped a special episode of their New Heights podcast with Prince William as their guest. Now, an expert is sharing what the Prince of Wales did that made him appear nervous and why Travis looked so “panicked” at the mention of his bride’s name.
Inbaal Honigman is a celebrity astrologer and body language expert. She has appeared in the media for more than two decades and given her predictions and expertise for Big Brother’s Little Brother, Elle Magazine, and talkSPORT radio, to name a few.
Speaking on behalf of Covers, Honigman told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “Prince William starts the broadcast a little nervous. His perfectly tall and even stance indicates that all his muscles are tense and he’s bracing for impact. A few seconds into it, we can see him visibly relaxing, resting his elbows on the table and leaning forward. The elbows on the table signify the moment that he stops being ‘formal’ and slips into a stance that’s more casual.

“The forward lean is a great sign which suggests fondness. The prince is not just doing this as a chore, but he realizes that he’s about to enjoy this. While Prince William relaxes into the interview within a few seconds, he’s still a little uneasy with the unscripted and under-prepared format of the show. Several indicators of his inner worries are spotted — from his eyes darting from side to side, to his licking his lips, the prince is still a little uneasy, and tries not to let his guard down too much.”
According to Honigman, Jason was “holding back” during the interview while Travis was more relaxed.
“It’s clear that Jason is holding back as much as he can. His back is extra straight, his neck is extra stiff, and he’s trying to make a good impression on a real-life royal. When William corrects the brothers that it is ‘football,’ not ‘soccer,’ Jason throws his head back in laughter. The head-throwing is a slightly exaggerated response to the soft, light royal joke, as if Jason wants to show the Prince that he really appreciates his sense of humor.
“Meanwhile, Travis is initially not really overwhelmed by having a royal nearby. His body language is more relaxed he leans back, and a small smile plays on his lips. If anything, the subtle, pleasant smile shows that Travis is in awe of the incredible achievement of getting Prince William on the show.”
Honigman added, “Towards the end of the episode, the brothers are much more comfortable. Most noticeably, both are leaning back in their seats, reclining as they’ve loosened up and they don’t feel like they need to perform a certain way. As for the prince, he allows himself longer periods of laughter before finding his royal groove and getting serious again.”
The expert also pointed out how when Travis brings up Taylor’s name and another possible tour, he immediately regrets it.
“When Travis mentions Taylor briefly, his face drops and his expression becomes serious. He never pauses during that sentence, but his body language changes completely,” Honigman noted. “The sentence starts out smiley and good-natured, but as soon as he’s mentioned her name, Travis quietly panics. His eyes lower as he’s searching himself, worrying perhaps whether he said something he’s not allowed to say.
“Travis’ shoulders rise in a protective gesture, then his chin drops, worried, looking for a way to finish the sentence as quickly as possible. This instant and evident panic is a clear sign that Travis didn’t want to draw attention by mentioning Taylor at that moment.”
