Tom Sykes has accused Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of dragging Prince William and Kate Middleton into the Thomas Markle Sr. controversy. Speaking on the October 30 episode of The Royalist, Sykes took aim at the Sussexes over The Telegraph’s report about a 2019 letter concerning Thomas.

The letter reportedly went through a Kensington Palace office once shared by both couples. Sykes questioned why William and Middleton were being pulled into the row. He also suggested Markle’s office was trying to shift the focus onto them.

“For Meghan’s office to now be briefing the Telegraph that William and Catherine were told about it specifically is an act of unbelievable spite in my opinion,” he said.

Sykes added, “The Telegraph goes to great lengths to labour this point that it’s gone to William and Catherine as well. And that therefore William and Catherine knew about it and William and Catherine should have done something about it.”

He then accused Harry and Markle of involving William in their dispute. “But the fact of Meghan once again seeking, and Harry, to be totally honest, seeking to throw his brother under the bus, it’s just, it’s so pathetic and unforgivable,” he stated. Harry and Markle shared their Kensington Palace office with William and Middleton until March 2019.

Back then, William and Middleton were the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The Met confirmed receiving the letter in January 2019. According to its October 29 statement, Thomas Sr.’s former wife, Roslyn Loveless, also known as Roslyn Markle, wrote it. She sent it to the Met’s Fixated Threat Assessment Centre.

The letter raised concerns about Markle’s security and included allegations of offenses outside Britain. The Met checked the letter and passed it to Harry and Markle’s office. However, officers didn’t alert overseas authorities. The force later referred itself to the IOPC.

On October 30, the watchdog confirmed an independent investigation. It will look at how the Met handled the letter and why officers didn’t contact authorities abroad. Thomas Sr. also faces separate allegations over child s–xual abuse material reportedly found at his former home in Cebu, Philippines.

Markle’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., took the matter to authorities. Philippine police are now investigating. According to the Daily Mail, Thomas Sr. denied the claims and called them “sick lies.” Markle said she was “deeply distressed” by the allegations.

She also said she received the 2019 letter and believed the claims were being investigated. Markle and Thomas Sr. have been estranged since her 2018 wedding. Their relationship soured after the staged paparazzi photos controversy.

Sykes also criticized what he saw as an attempt to paint the royal family in a bad light. “But The Telegraph labors this point, which is very convenient for the Sussexes’ narrative that the royal family are evil and that the royal family are all, you know, abusive and the royal family don’t care about anyone except themselves,” he said.

Sykes wasn’t convinced by the Sussexes’ response. He also questioned their concern for the alleged victims. “And for all their chat about how what they really cared about was the victims of these alleged crimes, you know, but then it becomes another sort of pathetic score settling,” he said.
