Sam Asghari Still Thinks Britney Spears’ Father Is a ‘D***Head’
Britney Spears’ ex-husband, Sam Asghari, recently reflected on his former wife’s tumultuous year. Spears has made headlines following her DUI arrest and other actions that have left fans concerned. Asghari made it clear that he still supports Spears and doesn’t think highly of her father.

When asked about Spears’ DUI arrest and other headline-making actions this year, News Nation asked Asghari if this related back to her childhood. While he didn’t go in depth, he affirmed his support for her and recalled a time that he called her father, Jamie Spears, a “d***head.”
Asghari has long been critical of his former father-in-law. In 2021, he said that he was trying to control their relationship.
“Now it’s important for people to understand that I have zero respect for someone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles our way,” Asghari wrote on Instagram. “In my opinion, Jamie is a total d***. I won’t be going into details because I’ve always respected our privacy but at the same time I didn’t come to this country to not be able to express my opinion and freedom.”

Asghari and Spears met on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video. He said that before this, he wasn’t all that familiar with her music.
“The second that I realized what these songs meant, and why people resonated with [them] and why they were icons — like Michael Jackson, Madonna and her: the King of Pop, the Queen of Pop and the Princess of Pop — then I understood,” he told Page Six Radio, “and it made me appreciate the music even more.”
He sees her as a once-in-a-lifetime artist. Even singers who try to emulate her won’t be able to achieve what she did.
“[Spears] sort of created a blueprint that nobody after that has ever really accomplished,” he said. “We see some artists now that are trying to do it, but it’s just not ever going to happen.”
The couple divorced after just over a year of marriage. Asghari said that though they couldn’t make their marriage work, he has “always been supportive” of his ex. Still, he has moved forward from the relationship.
