Sibling Rivalry, Reality-TV Style: Three Kardashian Feuds That Defined the Family Brand
The Kardashian family has built a carefully curated public image, but that doesn’t mean they shy away from feuds. In fact, the Kardashian sisters have battled on camera more than once. With rumors making headlines that Kylie Jenner is feuding with her siblings after her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut, we think it’s a good time to look back at the sisters’ three most infamous battles.
1. The time Kim told Kourtney she was “the least exciting to look at” (2019–2020)
The season 16 premiere of Keeping Up with the Kardashians opened with a fight over something small: a family photoshoot. Kourtney was reluctant to commit to it, irritating her younger sisters as they tried to pin things down. Kim and Khloé were both annoyed that Kourtney was holding things up, but only Kim took the spat to another level.
In the heat of the moment, Kim told Kourtney she was “the least exciting to look at,” a line that instantly became one of the show’s most quoted moments. The tension reignited the following year, when Kim suggested Kourtney’s commitment to the family business was lacking. That throwdown got so heated that the sisters came to blows, with Khloé stepping between them to break it up.
2. Kendall vs. Kylie: The Palm Springs car fight (2020)
Kim and Kourtney may feud more often than any of their sisters, but they aren’t the only ones who get on each other’s nerves. The Jenner sisters had their own blowup in 2020, one the family called the worst fight the two had had in years. Kendall and Kylie sniped at each other throughout a family trip to Palm Springs, and by the time they headed home, it was clear they were done dealing with each other. On the ride back, with Kris Jenner’s boyfriend, Corey Gamble, in the car, things boiled over. Kendall asked to be dropped off first, Kylie refused, and the sisters allegedly came to blows.
Although the film crew had stopped shooting, the sisters’ mics and the car cameras were still on, so viewers heard the screaming. Kendall later claimed Kylie hit her and dug a heel into her neck. Kendall got out at a gas station in tears, vowing, “I will never speak to Kylie ever again.” The two didn’t talk for more than a month, but by the time the episode aired, they were joking about the fight on social media.
3. The Kardashian sisters who feuded over a wedding (2022–2023)
The most drawn-out Kardashian feud, once again between Kim and Kourtney, started with a celebration. In 2022, Kourtney married Travis Barker in Portofino, Italy, in a lavish wedding styled by Dolce & Gabbana. Soon afterward, Kim went on to work with the fashion house on a collaboration of her own.
To Kourtney, the timing felt personal. On Hulu’s The Kardashians, she said Kim had turned her wedding into a business opportunity. Kim, famously, fired back by accusing Kourtney of copying her own 2014 wedding to Kanye West. She pointed out that both weddings took place in Italy and that Andrea Bocelli performed at both. It wasn’t the first time Kim suggested Kourtney was riding her coattails, and it likely won’t be the last.
Unlike the earlier blowups, this one didn’t end in a single explosive scene. It played out over an entire season, with pointed comments and confessional jabs from both sides. For viewers, it was a reminder that in this family, the personal and the professional are almost impossible to separate.
Feuding in public, making up in public
Each of these Kardashian feuds ended the same way: with the sisters publicly making up. That pattern has led some viewers to wonder how much of the drama is real and how much is heightened for the cameras. Since all three fights aired on the family’s own shows, it’s hard to know where genuine hurt ends and good television begins. Whether Kylie’s big moment has tensions flaring again is anyone’s guess, but if the rumors are true, fans will probably see it play out on the small screen eventually.
