Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Wedding: NYC Street-Closure Permit Points to July 3 at MSG
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift announced their engagement in August 2025. Ever since, fans have been vying for information about their upcoming wedding. As the NFL off-season draws closer to a close, everyone’s eyes are fixated on the pair and where and when they’ll say “I do.” At this point, Travis and Taylor’s wedding has had more false starts than almost any celebrity wedding in recent memory. Despite plenty of debunked rumors, onlookers just got the most concrete evidence to date that the nuptials will go down in New York City over Fourth of July weekend. Here is what is happening now.
A street closure request has everyone thinking Travis and Taylor’s wedding will go down at Madison Square Garden
Weeks ago, a rumor began circulating that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce would be tying the knot at Madison Square Garden after plans to hold a Rhode Island ceremony fell through. While there wasn’t a ton of concrete evidence of the event at that point, the clues are stacking up. A recent street closure request is the latest and, perhaps, the most telling.
According to multiple reports, an event company has requested that the streets around Madison Square Garden be closed between July 2 and July 4. The closure request, made by Winick Productions, is reportedly tied to a July 3 event.

According to The New York Times, the request is so specific that it would be shocking if it were for anything other than the famed couple’s wedding. The outlet has learned the request asks for permission to use exterior canopies, and to have tents and trucks in and around the closed street. The request also states that the event will include 500 to 999 guests.
Swift and Kelce have not shared exact details about their wedding, but the couple did note that they were planning a large event, as Swift didn’t want to have to cut the guest list. Swift has also been spending a lot of time in New York City in recent weeks, further suggesting she might be finalizing plans. Most importantly, the Garden, which just played host to the New York Knicks’ championship run, has nothing on its public schedule for the weekend in question. While the clues don’t spell it out entirely, it’s pretty clear a large, private event will be taking place.
There have been other wedding rumors
While Madison Square Garden is now the frontrunner of suspected venues, it isn’t the only locale fans believed could host Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s wedding. Since their engagement, there has been chatter about the pair tying the knot in multiple cities. Some thought the Cleveland area, where Travis was born and raised, could get the nod. Others assumed Swift would opt for Rhode Island, hosting an event at her beloved summer estate. A few onlookers even theorized that Nashville or New York City, both places where Swift owns property, could be the spot where she and Kelce tie the knot.

Rhode Island appeared to be the most likely alternative location; in fact, some reports suggest an entire event was planned before fans got wind of it and the couple changed direction. While we still don’t know where and when the pair will say “I do,” it seems safe to say that the day is probably drawing near.
