Who Are Taylor Swift’s 5 Godchildren?
Taylor Swift has five godchildren, and none of them were a part of her recent wedding. Swift married Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden on July 3, 2026. The only children who played a role in the wedding were Jason and Kylie Kelce’s. Who are her godchildren, and why weren’t they a part of her big day?
Taylor Swift has five godchildren
Swift is the godmother to five children. Actress Jaime King asked Swift to be the godmother to her son, Leo, because of her work ethic.
“It wasn’t because it was this person and the name. It was really because of her morals and her values, the way that she treats people and how hard-working she is … her family and how close she is to them,” King said, per People. ”I see what she gives out there to her fans and to her family. That’s the kind of person I want to be the guide and the spiritual protector of my child.”
Swift is also the godmother of four of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ five children: Olin, Betty, Inez, and James. Swift referenced James, Inez, and Betty in her 2020 album, Folklore.
None of Taylor Swift’s godchildren were in her wedding
Though Swift has five godchildren, none of them were at her wedding. Instead, her nieces were flower girls.
“She just had Jason Kelce’s [daughters] as flower girls,” a source told Page Six.
The reason that Swift did not involve her other godchildren in her wedding was because she is no longer close with their parents. A source said that Swift and King have not spent time together in years.
“Taylor gets really close to the people in front of her fast. She and Jaime just happened to be friends when Jaime was pregnant, and that’s why Jaime asked [Swift to be godmother] — but they didn’t have a super long history together,” they said. “Taylor and Jaime haven’t been spotted together in years.”
She also had a falling out with Lively amid her This Ends With Us lawsuit. Swift reportedly was not happy to have her name associated with the highly publicized legal proceedings.
She didn’t invite Blake Lively to her wedding
Given Swift’s long and close friendship with Lively, it came as a surprise to some that she did not invite her to her wedding.
“Taylor’s in a different place now and she just wants to be around people she trusts and who bring her peace,” a source told Page Six. “It’s a shame because she and Blake really were close, but she doesn’t think it’s something that’s going to be fixed. As far as [Taylor’s] concerned, their friendship is done.”
They added that the lawsuit was a breaking point in their friendship.
“There was a point where Taylor thought she and Blake would get past all of this,” the source said. “She didn’t expect things to end up like this. At first she figured once everything settled down, they’d be fine. But then more stuff kept happening and it just got harder to come back from.”
