Another billionaire has tied the knot.

On July 3, pop queen Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce said “I do” in front of roughly 1,000 guests in a ceremony held at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The star-studded event came just over a year after a different billionaire – Amazon founder Jeff Bezos – got married to Lauren Sanchez in Venice.

Both events attracted plenty of celebrities. Guests at Swift and Kelce’s big day included Steven Spielberg, Paul McCartney, and Bradley Cooper, while Bezos and Sanchez celebrated with several members of the Kardashian family, Oprah Winfrey, and Leonardo DiCaprio. And both weddings were controversial. Bezos and Sanchez’s three-day celebration attracted protests from people who objected to their takeover of the historic Italian city, while Swift and Kelce were slammed for shutting down multiple streets in the middle of Manhattan during a busy holiday weekend. Critics saw both weddings as cases of billionaire greed and hubris run amok. (Swift is worth an estimated $2 billion, while Bezos is worth more than $250 billion.)

So, how much does getting married as a billionaire cost? While exact figures aren’t available, Swift and Kelce likely spent $15 to $20 million on their party, experts told CNN. Expenses included the cost of renting out the arena in Manhattan for multiple nights ($1 million per night), lighting (up to $1 million), flowers ($500,000 to $1 million), as well as the cost of hiring MSG’s unionized workers and, of course, security for the scores of A-listers.

Bezos and Sanchez spent an estimated $47 to $56 million, government sources told Reuters. Their expenses included booking out multiple luxury hotels for this 200 guests, private water taxi transportation, and catering.

In this billionaire battle, Bezos is the clear winner, shelling out more money for a more intimate celebration in one of the most romantic cities in the world. Meanwhile, Swift — while still spending a pretty penny — kept her budget smaller and her guest list much larger while opting for a non-traditional venue. As for which was the better party? You’d have to ask the attendees.
