These Stars Were on Hand for the Knicks’ Amazing Come-From-Behind Win
New York City is absolutely crazed over the NBA Finals, and the Knicks sure are putting up a good show. Game 4 ended in a jaw-dropping come-from-behind win from the Knicks that had people all over the tri-state area celebrating. The Knicks seriously pulled out all the stops; perhaps the star-studded guest list inspired them to make things a little theatrical. These A-listers, including several lifelong Knicks fans, were on hand to watch the team trample the San Antonio Spurs for the third time in four games.
These A-listers were on hand for the Knicks’ stunning Game 4 win
The Knicks’ storied season owes everything to its superstar roster and coaching staff. The roster is absolutely stacked with big-name stars — but MSG’s sidelines are packed with just as much star power. The seats at Madison Square Garden, known as “Celebrity Row,” have become must-watch television. Game 3 offered a star-studded group of spectators, but Game 4 took things a bit further.
Taylor Swift was on hand to cheer on the Knicks. While her future husband, Travis Kelce, is a Cleveland Cavaliers fan, Swift is known to align with the Knicks. She took in the game; Travis did not. Adam Sandler and Jerry Seinfeld, lifelong Knicks fans, were also on hand, looking more thrilled than pretty much anyone in the arena after the team’s massive come-from-behind win.
Timothée Chalamet, who grew up not far from the Garden, was sitting front and center, as he has all postseason. While his thoughts on ballet and opera may be divisive, his feelings about sports are not. Chalamet has made it his business to represent New York sports teams every chance he gets. Always by his side, but decidedly less enthusiastic, was Kylie Jenner. The California-born star doesn’t have a dog in this fight.
As expected, Spike Lee was on hand. Lee has been a fixture at Madison Square Garden for decades, whether the team is experiencing a high or a low. Lee even predicted, way back in the spring, that this would be the year the Knicks take home a championship.
One win away
The star-studded Game 4 was never going to be a winner-takes-all affair. The Knicks fell to the Spurs in Game 3, ensuring the series would go to at least five games. Still, it might be the fans’ last chance to see the championship play out on the Knicks’ home turf.
The series shifts back to San Antonio for Game 5 on Saturday. The Knicks need just one more win to secure their first championship title since 1973. They’ll return to New York for Game 6, if needed, on Tuesday, June 16. If that game is needed, we expect the stars to be out en masse again.
