Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak is going through a difficult time in her personal life. As she navigates her divorce from Kroy Biermann, her teenage son also faces sex crime charges. Her former publicist claimed that Zolciak’s personal life has been “toxic” for years.

Kim Zolciak’s publicist said that her life is ‘toxic’

Jonathan Jaxson worked as Zolciak’s publicist from 2007 to 2009. He claimed that Zolciak’s life has always been chaotic.

“It’s just a very toxic world,” he told The Daily Mail.

He said that her life can be “addictive,” and that she has always been fun, adding, “She was the life of the party.

Still, he said that being around her could be a lot.

“It’s like, ‘Gosh, the train wreck I’m part of and you can’t get off the wagon.’”

While Jaxson hasn’t spoken to Zolciak since 2022, her former castmate, NeNe Leakes, said they spoke recently. Leakes noted that Zolciak is having a hard time.

“I recently spoke to Kim,” Leakes said on The Big Tigger Morning Show. “I just hit her up, wanted to see how she was doing.”

She is navigating a divorce from Kroy Biermann and attempting to support her son as he faces charges of sexual battery and sodomy.

“I know that’s a tough time,” Leakes said. “And I know she’s not OK.”

She is going through a contentious divorce

In 2023, Zolciak filed for divorce from Biermann, her husband of 11 years. Three years later, they are still battling over their divorce.

In May, Zolciak lost primary physical custody of their four children. While the former couple will share joint physical custody, Biermann will have the final say with regard to educational, non-emergency medical, and religious decisions.

“While I want this process to be over for my children more than anything,” Zolciak said in a statement to E! News. “I am looking forward to a full court date when we will finally be provided with an opportunity to present the truth.”

Kim Zolciak’s son is also facing prison time

Zolciak’s son, KJ Biermann, allegedly locked a 14-year-old girl in the dressing room of a Lifetime Fitness and sexually assaulted her. He faces charges of aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment, and three counts of sexual battery against a child under the age of 16.

Zolciak has publicly supported her son since his arrest. She claims that the allegations were false.

“The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling,” she told E! News in a statement. “He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged.”

She said that police found none of her son’s DNA, and claimed he passed a polygraph test.

“False accusations can have devastating consequences not only for the person being accused, but also for genuine survivors of sexual assault and abuse,” she said. “Every legitimate allegation deserves to be taken seriously and investigated based on the facts and evidence. At the same time, no one should be publicly condemned based solely on an accusation.”

She said that she feels confident that the evidence will prove her son’s side of the story.

“We remain confident that the facts and evidence will establish the truth, and we ask that people allow the proper process to take its course rather than spreading unproven allegations.”
