‘Love Island’: Parmida Feels ‘Let Down’ By Corbin Split, Said Body Language Expert
During the Love Island USA reunion, Corbin and Parmida revealed something fans had begun to suspect: they are no longer together. While the couple left the Villa as an exclusive pair, they have decided that they’re better as friends. Despite what they said, a body language expert said that Parmida seemed upset about their new situation.
Corbin and Parmida announced their breakup during the ‘Love Island’ reunion
After leaving the Villa as an exclusive couple, Corbin and Parmida shared glowing messages about one another on social media.
“I don’t know how to tell you this but it was really the universe that brought us together and I am blessed to have left the villa with you as my couple,” he wrote on Instagram. “This is only the beginning to what we have started with each other.”
“I can’t wait to continue growing, becoming the best version of myself, and showing America the connection I have with Corbin behind closed doors,” she wrote in a post of their own.
Before long, though, fans began to suspect that they had broken up. Corbin confirmed this at the reunion. He said that they remain friends.
“Are we together? No. Not in relationship terms,” he said. “But as friendships? Yes.”
Parmida seemed upset about the breakup from Corbin during the ‘Love Island’ reunion
Body language analyst Inbaal Honigman with Casino.ca said that Corbin did not seem comfortable while revealing the state of his relationship with Parmida.
“Corbin is hugely uneasy talking about having split from Parmida,” she explained. “He shuffles uncomfortably in his seat before answering, then leans forward, showing that he has decided to be truthful. For a moment there, he was considering whether he could sugarcoat the story.”
Parmida also seemed uncomfortable, but Honigman speculates that it is because she isn’t happy about the breakup.
“Parmida is seen as disappointed,” she said. “She might say that she’s happy with the friendship, but her shoulders are slumped and her eyelids lowered. She feels like Corbin has let her down.”
Still, Honigman said that Parmida tried to hide that she felt hurt.
“Parmida sweeps hair away from her face, which is a slight protective move,” she said. “For a split second, her hand covers her face, which gives her a sense of safety while talking about a difficult topic. She tries to hide the fact that she’s upset.”
He didn’t want her to share anything bad about their split
Corbin watched Parmida closely as she spoke. Honigman said that he seemed worried that Parmida might say something disparaging about their split.
“While Parmida talks, Corbin gazes intently at her face,” she said. “His brow furrows and he tightens his lips, keeping his eyes closely on her and wishing that she doesn’t say anything too incriminating about him or their relationship. The intensity of his gaze reveals his fear that she could make him sound really bad.”
She believes that he was trying to discourage Parmida from saying anything too revealing.
“Corbin’s tight lips and jutting tongue are like a message to Parmida, asking her to say as little as possible so that he’s not painted as a villain,” she said. “Corbin visibly relaxes when Parmida speaks positively about the memories they’ve made together. His shoulders soften and his tight lips relax, as he overcomes the fear response. For a moment, he was really panicked about where the conversation could go, but his stress response instantly vanishes when Parmida makes a choice to focus on the positives.”
