Victoria Beckham Sees Nicola Peltz’s Name Change as ‘Calculating and Vindictive’
The feud between Victoria Beckham and her daughter-in-law, Nicola Peltz, continues. In a recent appearance at the Kineo Awards, Nicola accepted an award as “Nicola Beckham.” This reportedly has not gone over well with her famous in-laws. Because of the ongoing estrangement, Victoria reportedly feels hurt by this move.

At the Kineo Awards, Nicola accepted the Rising Star award. She reportedly dropped the “Peltz” from her name and accepted it as Nicola Peltz. Victoria reportedly feels that this is a deliberate provocation.
“Victoria can’t help feeling Nicola’s actions are calculating and vindictive,” a source said, per Yahoo!. “She’s trying her best to move on with her life, despite the feud, but this seems to be a direct provocation from Nicola.”
She also feels that Nicola is trying to capitalize on the Beckham family name.
“Dropping Peltz from her name feels like she’s taking from the family brand that Victoria and David worked so hard for, without having a billionaire father to bankroll either of them,” the source added. “It’s a highly sensitive subject. It’s hard for both Victoria and David to just turn the other cheek.”
The source added that seeing Nicola use their last name amid the ongoing estrangement has added insult to injury for the family.
“On the one hand, they’re heartbroken that Brooklyn is choosing to be estranged from them and that there’s no sign of a reconciliation,” the source said. “But they take their business and Brand Beckham seriously. To see Nicola try to capitalise on the family name is a difficult pill to swallow, especially as a lot of the problems have stemmed from her.”

Interestingly, the family’s focus on the Beckham Brand was a problem that Brooklyn cited in his public statement about their estrangement.
“My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else,” he wrote. “Brand Beckham comes first. Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations.”
He claimed that his parents have controlled his life for years and that he is happier with Nicola.
“The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards,” he added. “I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose and have found peace and relief.”
