‘RHONY’: Luann de Lesseps Teases ‘News Soon’ About Season 14 – ‘New York Is Coming Back’
Luann de Lesseps said news about The Real Housewives of New York City Season 14 is coming soon.
“I just ran into Ramona [Singer] in Florida,” she dished on Access about RHONY. “She’s spending a lot of time in Florida these days. So I saw her when I was there. And you know, we’re good. And I think we’re going to have news soon about The Real Housewives of New York. So I’m looking forward to that.”
She added, “You think New York is going anywhere? New York is coming back and we’ll be back stronger than ever hopefully.”
‘RHONY’ has staying power
Does de Lesseps think she will return? “Well, I never know until I get to that bridge,” she said on the entertainment show. “Obviously [she hopes to return]. I think it would be fun to do another season. It’s gonna be season 14. Imagine? Crazy, yeah.”
“We’ve been on the air longer than Desperate Housewives, Sex and the City,” de Lesseps told Access. “I mean, yeah so I mean we have some staying power. That’s why I say, we’re not going anywhere, and I’m excited about the future of RHONY.” She hoped some former cast members could return. “I’ve been putting it out there,” she teased.
Who does Luann want to return to ‘RHONY’?
De Lesseps said she’d love to see Dorinda Medley, Tinsley Mortimer, and possibly Kelly Bensimon return. While she could not dish specifics about casting, RHONY friend and insider David Yontef from Behind the Velvet Rope told Showbiz Cheat Sheet he’s confident de Lesseps will return to RHONY. He also believes Singer, and possibly Tinsley Mortimer will return.
“I think Tinsley is a real possibility to make a return,” he said. “She is the only one I see as a real possibility in terms of where the show is now, being on-brand and all, and moving forward for the future of RHONY. Tinsley never had any problems with Ramona or Lu. They always got along and her life has completely changed since breaking up with Scott.” He added, “She has a natural connection to these two OGs.”
Kelly Bensimon and Sonja Morgan likely to return?
While de Lesseps would love to see Bensimon return, Yontef does not see her returning to RHONY. “Lu has been photographed a lot lately with Kelly Bensimon which has led to speculation,” Yontef said.
“I think that would be epic to bring the legend that is Kelly back to RHONY,” he added. “As a sort of redemption for the black cloud that is Scary Island which incorrectly followers her everywhere. But that is not happening.”
“Although, I would love it,” Yontef said. “Kelly is one of the most misunderstood of all the Housewives. She is actually wonderful!”
Yontef did not think Sonja Morgan would return to RHONY. A new clue that Morgan may have moved on was recently revealed. She announced the Sonja in Your City comedy tour after signing with talent agency UTA. The tour kicks off this spring and will be a variety show with drag performances, standup comedians, and Morgan doing improv, Variety reports.
