Taylor Frankie Paul has walked away from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, but she hasn’t walked away from the drama surrounding her time on the show. Paul is feeling pretty feisty these days, and she’s opted to take aim at her former co-star, Layla Taylor. The controversial reality TV star suggested Layla Taylor is only talking about her for clout.

Layla Taylor says she can’t be friends with Taylor Frankie Paul

Layla Taylor has a lot to say about her time on reality TV and the pitfalls of it all. During an interview with E! News, Layla opened up about her former friendship with Taylor Frankie Paul and whether they could work their way back to being civil. Layla was certain that there was no possibility.

Layla went on to explain her reasoning, saying, “The behaviors in her relationship were hard to watch.” She went on to remind everyone that Paul had said some deeply hurtful things. Layla stressed that she wishes Paul well, but said that for her own mental health, she needs to keep her distance.

The admission didn’t sit right with Taylor Frankie Paul, who has been on the defensive since her relationship drama has been on full display.

Taylor Frankie Paul claps back

Taylor Frankie Paul made the decision to step away from reality TV, but she wants the world to know she thinks she carried the show, or, at the very least, the storyline of some co-stars. Paul dropped into the comment section of a TikTok video recapping Layla Taylor’s interview, and she had some big opinions.

Paul suggested that Layla was using their feud to remain relevant, and questioned whether Layla knew she was allowed to discuss things that had nothing to do with Taylor Frankie Paul. She took the opportunity to close with one major jab. She wrote, “Then again, it was the only clip of her talking that made headlines… can’t blame her.”

The dig landed squarely on a sore spot for the cast. Since Paul’s drama exploded earlier this year, there have been accusations that some of the women are using Paul’s turmoil to grab attention for themselves. Paul seems to think Layla is trying to cash in on it, at the very least.

Layla Taylor and Taylor Frankie Paul used to be close

Taylor Frankie Paul and Layla Taylor are both hurt by each other, it seems. There is a good reason. In the early days of the show, Layla was one of Paul’s closest allies, often taking her side in MomTok’s many disputes. But as Layla grew more comfortable speaking her mind, they began to clash.

Things came to a head earlier this year when Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, made mutual allegations of domestic violence. Filming was paused, and the two remain locked in a custody dispute over their 2-year-old son, Ever. In the aftermath, Layla posted a statement drawing on her own experience as a survivor.

When production resumed, several cast members reportedly refused to work with Paul, and Season 5 was cut down to just five episodes.

When did Taylor Frankie Paul quit ‘SLOMW’?

Taylor Frankie Paul’s place on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was precarious following the domestic abuse allegations, but she initially seemed interested in going forward. That changed on Sept. 21, when she announced she was leaving the show. In an Instagram post, Paul thanked the networks that supported her. She spent a good portion of the statement also calling out her former castmates, accusing them of “laughing” about her children and bullying her.

Her departure hasn’t settled things. Fellow original cast member Mikayla Matthews has also announced her exit, and Layla has said she isn’t sure about her own long-term future on the show, though she is expected to appear in Season 6.
