Demi Lovato is an American actor and singer-songwriter. As a child, they appeared on the TV series Barney & Friends and rose to fame after playing Mitchie Torres in Disney Channel‘s Camp Rock. After that, Lovato starred in Sonny with a Chance (2009–2011) and Princess Protection Program (2009,) among other projects. They served as a judge on The X Factor USA in seasons 2 and 3.
Through the years, Lovato has built a successful music career, selling more than 24 million records in the U.S. Some of their tops songs include: “Cool for the Summer,” “Skyscraper,” “This Is Me,” “Sorry, Not Sorry,” and “Give Your Heart a Break.”
Lovato has earned a number of awards, including an MTV Video Music Award, 14 Teen Choice Awards, five People’s Choice Awards, and two Latin American Music Awards.
Because of their personal struggles, Lovato is an advocate for those who struggle with substance abuse, mental health, and eating disorders. They publicly game out as non-binary in May 2021; their pronouns are they/them.
