Falcon and the Winter Soldier is an American TV show exclusive to the Disney+ streaming platform. The series takes place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Season 1 of the TV miniseries debuted in 2021 and is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame. The show follows Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) after he’s given the prestigious Captain America shield. Sam grapples with the history of Captain America and owning his new role. He teams up with Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) in a global adventure.

The series was filmed in Atlanta, George and the Czech Republic. Season 1, which is part of the MCU’s Phase Four, consisted of six episodes. The success of the series greenlit a new Captain America film starring Mackie.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier was nominated for five Emmy awards.
