Tim admits to cheating on Melyza on ’90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’

When fans were introduced to this 90 Day Fiancé couple, Tim and Melyza, back in season 2 of The Other Way, when Tim admitted to audiences that he had cheated on Melyza to salvage what was left of the relationship, Tim decided he would move to Melyza’s hometown in Colombia instead of the original plan of her moving to America with Tim. After initially meeting in a bar, the couple was forced to date long-distance when Melyza’s visa was up.

Tim admitted on the show, “Last year, the distance between me and Melyza at that time was very difficult. I felt lonely, and the girl that I ultimately cheated with was a coworker. It just started off as casual conversation, and it got to the point where we did have a [full-on] intimate sexual encounter.” Tim came clean about his infidelity to his girlfriend. Eventually, they were able to try again in the relationship. Tim took this “second chance.” He did all he could to mend what he had broken. He said, “If I’m ever going to gain her trust back, this is something I’ve got to do to prove my commitment to her, and it’s going to be a long road.”

Tim returns to America and breaks up with Melyza

After spending time in Colombia, coming clean to Melyza’s family about the affair, and attempting to find a job, Tim had to return home in February of 2020. He told Melyza that he would return to America and keep looking for jobs in Colombia that would be able to sponsor him to stay with her long-term. However, once he returned home to America, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic hit, and he couldn’t travel back to Colombia.

After the couple spent some time separated again, Tim actually broke up with Melyza. That’s when Melyza reached out to him and they eventually were able to talk again. When they got back together, Tim flew to Colombia to put a ring on her finger.

Tim and Melyza get engaged and file for the K-1 visa

Much to fans’ surprise, Tim got down on one knee and asked Melyza to be his wife after seven years of dating. Now the pair are back in Dallas, Texas. Melyza is currently on a tourist visa that allows her to spend six months in the US before she will have to go back to Colombia.

On the July 11th episode of 90 Day Diaries, Tim and Melyza go and talk to an immigration lawyer about filing the K-1 visa and the process. The lawyer explains that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the K-1 visa process might take anywhere from “22 and a half to 24 months” to be approved. Obviously, the pair have a hard time dealing with long-distance due to trust issues. Melyza expressed her concerns that if she will have to go back to Colombia for two years while the visa is processing, that Tim will cheat again. In the Twitter clip from the July 11th episode, Meylza speaks to her friend about her concerns regarding Tim’s infidelity.
